Cortana: The message just repeats. "Regret, Regret, Regret."
Miranda: Any idea what it means?
Sgt. Johnson: Dear Humanity... we regret being alien bastards. We regret coming to Earth. And we most definitely regret that the Corps just blew up our raggedy-ass fleet!
Marines: Hoo-rah!

To me, the very fact that you are reading this post right now means that you have at your core, a very deep-rooted love for the Halo franchise, and even specifically Halo: Reach. A game nearing its second anniversary, which to this day you still play and care enough about to log into these forums and discuss it.

To me, this is evidence enough that everyone on here, for better or worse, loves Reach. Except for those sick people who hate it so vehemently they feel the need to lurk and flame. They don't count.

Without The Flood, I wouldn't know what an opinion is.

Almost right. Except that Reach is clearly...

The 343 forums suck. They're full of retarded kids and mods who got butthurt in the B.net forums for being told that they're bad.

The enjoyment level I had been getting from Reach had slowly been declining since I got it when it first came out, and now I have not played it for two months and it feels great.

I never felt this way with Halo 3. I loved that game til the end, still do.

I approve this message containing coherent thought.

I don't like Reach, but it's better than a lot of stuff on the market now.

  • 07.24.2012 10:28 AM PDT

love it! still play on the reg, also still play Halo 3 on the reg, I'm addicted to the Halo franchise, have read all the books, played all the games....can't wait for Halo 4, I feel like Cartman waiting for the Wii.

No, I'm not perfect, but I have the feeling you're the kind of person who is used to meeting imperfect people on the internet.

Reach is the best Halo ever.

Come at me, bro.

I'm not ashamed to admit that I play it for at least half an hour and then move on to something else. Unless I'm doing extremely well then I play all night.

You are not accurately representing the latter group, which is more prevalent than the former.

Your opinion is invalid.

I enjoy Reach. I would have enjoyed it more if they designed the online component in a more... competent way.

The concept I was trying to convey in the OP was that the latter group is in fact, in the minority. And the last part was obvious partisan slander meant to offend the latter group :)

EDIT: "offend" in a jestful way

I'm the cult of personality,
I call it like i see it, if i feel the need to be blunt and to the point, then i will, if i feel the need to be very detailed, i will, im here to stay and im here to do things my way, if you respect that or not is your choice, not mine,
and don't worry, while i don't agree with everyone's opinion, i do respect everyone's opinion.

opinions are not fact, remember that,

reach has a few good aspects but overall i like Halo 3 a lot more then reach, i got bored with reach very quickly and i never got bored of Halo 3.

Arbitor they outnumber us three to one!
Then it is an even fight.

Arbitor > Arbiter.
Arbitor = Rank above Arbiter.

A big thanks to kids that did this to 343 after they heard they get an infection game mode in halo 4 with no thought of normal playlists.

Nope, I still dislike it and have quit playing it for quite a while. (stayed away from it for 9 months, played a bit to see if it still sucked, and haven't played since).

I hated it when it came out and there was no option to remove bloom. I played Halo 3 constantly until Reach's release (and still play in tournaments occasionally); I stopped playing Reach after 3 weeks.

It's a bit dull and unpredictable. You never know when your going to spontaneously combust in a vehicle or die from a 10 foot fall.

"She is starting to damage my calm."

I DO love Halo Reach and all Halos. I don't really play any other games but Halo. And I'm absolutely terrible at all of them. But I love them nonetheless.

Is that so wrong?

~:O>~~

If anything... it goes to show that as fans of Halo, we are also submitting ourselves to Bungie's vision and ideology for a gaming experience... which also is responsible for shaping the entire online multi-player experience as we know it today.

A lot of features that we have today playing online originated with Bungie's involvement in creating their model of competitive multi-player in the Halo franchise. Halo is like an 'ancient book', written during a time when there were hardly any other books in existence... which makes the feat of creating it in the first place all the more revered.

Every generation is ignorant of the processes and events that occurred before one's own existence... as an act of complacency and ease of simply falling into a particular typecast.

We defend Halo because it's a religion that has been replaced by a newer one (may all the Fan boys rest in peace)... thus the passing of our youth onto the next breed of humanity.

I agree that Reach can be annoying with some things (to me like 4 or 5 things are wrong with it) but it is my favorite Halo game to date.

And it started with Marathon, which I fondly remember playing on our LAN at work. Many, many times. Most fun EVER.
