No, ExcessiveFaun6 is not my real gamertag.

Cortana: The message just repeats. "Regret, Regret, Regret."
Miranda: Any idea what it means?
Sgt. Johnson: Dear Humanity... we regret being alien bastards. We regret coming to Earth. And we most definitely regret that the Corps just blew up our raggedy-ass fleet!
Marines: Hoo-rah!

If anything... it goes to show that as fans of Halo, we are also submitting ourselves to Bungie's vision and ideology for a gaming experience... which also is responsible for shaping the entire online multi-player experience as we know it today.
A lot of features that we have today playing online originated with Bungie's involvement in creating their model of competitive multi-player in the Halo franchise. Halo is like an 'ancient book', written during a time when there were hardly any other books in existence... which makes the feat of creating it in the first place all the more revered.
Every generation is ignorant of the processes and events that occurred before one's own existence... as an act of complacency and ease of simply falling into a particular typecast.
We defend Halo because it's a religion that has been replaced by a newer one (may all the Fan boys rest in peace)... thus the passing of our youth onto the next breed of humanity.
I really enjoyed reading this. Well written.
