In the books, (most) of the ODSTs thought of the Spartans as freaks because, you know, word went around that they were trained since childhood and were military experiments to them.

But the Spartan IVs are either ex ODST or some other highly ranked UNSC warfare group, how do you think the ODSTs view these guys vs the other previous generations of Spartans?

I thought it was only the Spartan IIs that the ODSTs had a bad relationship with, due to John killing a few of them?

Anyway, their relationship with the Spartan IVa is likely to be much better.

They didn't know about Spartan IIIs, so any Spartan III team on the frontlines(most were sent to suicide missions behind UNSC territory) like Noble that they came into contact too were presumed to be Spartan II teams.

Even Halsey (initially) thought they were a newer breed of Spartan IIs, she only discovered about the Spartan IIIs when she hacked into Colonel Ackerson's files (after Reach was glassed) in Castle Base.

We've never seen any signs of hatred from ODSTs towards Spartans in any of the games. I doubt we ever will especially with Spartan-IVs arriving on the scene, they effectively bridge the gap between ODSTs and S-IIs and S-IIIs.

thou shall not smite thee. thou shall smite thi with gluteus maximus fire.

It has been awhile since the war had started. and during and after reach odsts realized that sparatans were saving their asses not showing them off

The ODSTs that AREN'T Spartan IV may be jealous, because they weren't chosen to be better than they already are.

Maybe.

心の中に弱い風が吹いています。

Well from what I could tell in Glasslands it looks like Vaz and Naomi are getting along great if you ask me.

I'm pretty sure she suspected the Spartan IIIs before that. Wasn't it recently revealed that she had guessed about a Spartan III program after she met Noble Team?

Well firstly they never said just how many ODSTs were against the Spartans. I'm pretty sure there were a lot of them but percentage-wise it was pretty low.
I don't think there would be anywhere near as many ODSTs who hold anything against the Spartan IVs. In a way they are sort of a cross between ODSTs and Spartan IIIs.

Waypoint Moderators aren't really Moderators, just power hungry and its goal is defend their beloved Halo at all costs. (Meaning that they wank Halo too much.)

BS Angel is alleged foe so, be wary of Waypoint and its moderators! Do not attempt to move to Waypoint. Enter your own risk.

*WARNING* IT IS MY OPINION.

Although, there is only small group of ODSTS hated Spartans. Most of them likely didn't care or admired Spartans for helping UNSC to fare bit better in war.

They should clash a bit, I think.

  • 07.27.2012 6:38 AM PDT

I think by the events of Halo 2, Spartans and ODSTs worked together for so long (relatively) that the ODSTs for the most part probably didnt care. Not to mention the fact that the Master Chief became a literal legend of the war by the end of Halo 3, with the memorial and whatnot.

Thus, given that the Spartan IV program used volunteers, word would have to be passed around the UNSC that they are accepting volunteers. Therefore, it is possible that a good number of IVs are known by normal UNSC personel. Not only that, but the reputation of being a Spartan probably made it so that most would look up to them as the best soldiers that the UNSC could field while retaining the human aspect of them being the guy that they had lunch with or something.

If anything, the human aspect was what the Spartan IIs lacked and was what made the other UNSC personel uneasy with them at first, since they were described as being very secluded from the rest of the UNSC in terms of interactions with other personel.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

I don't think they'll clash as much as the S-IIs and IIIs with the ODSTs.

To start with the ODST's didn't like the Spartans as they had been top of the food chain in the UNSC until the Spartans came along and basically showed them up. But I think that that had eventually subsided.
