Speaking with game experience with Halo 4 here: Halo 4 is definitely not like Reach, but it has aspects from Reach. If I had to give you the most concise way to put Halo 4 from my 2 hours of playing it at RTX, I would say

Halo 3 Game Pace + Halo 2 BR + Halo Reach DMR + Halo 3 + Perks = Halo 4

Overall, the game is balanced and a ball to play. It definitely has the potential to be THAT GAME

Killstreaks are only in Infinity Slayer, and to be flat out straight, it just feels great to get an ordnance drop. I know you will not believe me, but you'll wait until you play it.

TBH, I was heavily surprised when I played Halo 4 for the first time. The game just feels "great". It is what Reach SHOULD HAVE BEEN. It keeps that original Halo feel, and adds an interesting twist.

Halo 3 Game Pace + Halo 2 BR + Halo Reach DMR + Halo 3 + Perks = Halo 4

That was a perfect formula up until the Perks part.

Don't worry buddy. Perks are such a minor factor

Every Halo after CE was treated as a test project.

H2 experimented with:

-Brutes, Drones, Elite Rangers, Enforcers, Flood (Juggernauts were going to be the Flood version of Zealots, some Carriers would have Jackal shields)
-super awesome scripted missions
-Sentinels using other weapons (Needler sentinels)

H3 experimented with:

-exchanging weapons with allied Sentinels
-shortcuts during the hog run
-impressive Forerunner levels

ODST experimented with:

-open world gameplay
-Hunter variants
-first person cutscenes
-seeing things from UNSC marine perspective

Reach was very drastic but it's Bungie. They put too much commitment and end up releasing a game that could be miles better. Though Reach was intentionally sabotaged... in some aspects (like the -blam!- troopers).

From the gameplay I've seen, Halo 4 looks alright, but it doesn't seem to have that longevity factor that got me playing Halo 2 and 3 for so long.

Reach was a drawing board for the new Bungie title, so was ODST. I like both, but it IS arguable they're not games, but experiments.

Your 'beliefs' mean less than dick to me.

This whole thing made me laugh out loud. No joke. I especially enjoyed how you list off a bunch of negative features from Halo 3 and pre-TU Reach, and then insist it has the 'original Halo feel'. What are you, 15? And of course the obligatory 'it just FEELS rite!!!' remark.

No, it's not like Reach; it's Reach taken to the next extreme. I can tell just from the gameplay on youtube.
