It's just a thought, but... did anybody else, when making the switch from Halo 1 to Halo 2, feel like the camera wasn't wide-angle enough?

For those not in the know, the amount of "wide-angle-ness" a camera has is called Field of View, or FOV. FOV is usually measured in degrees. Human FOV is about 180 degrees, and most games use either 75 degrees or (more commonly) 90 degrees.

I'm not sure why Halo 2's FOV is different, and although I eventually got used to it, it still kinda bugs me. So, I propose a compromise: Let the user choose!

I think Halo 1's FOV was right around 90 degrees or so, with Halo 2's being, I would guess, 75-ish. If, in the settings, the user could choose between FOVs of 75, 90, and whatever else Bungie wants to put in, Bungie could please old-school fans and new-school fans alike. Just an idea.

~Edit~ For clarity.

That would be nice. Lets hope this time around they remember the old school fans for a lot of things in Halo3

Yeah, one of my BIGGEST complaints about Halo 2 is the FOV- it's like MC has little to no peripheral vision, it's absurd. I hate the feeling of losing someone in a melee fight simply because they are right next to you- I think it was something that never should have made it to the game, and I really hope it gets changed.

I was able to increase my FOV and boy does it feel nice.
