Subject: Will Reach be the "glory days" for some?

No, ExcessiveFaun6 is not my real gamertag.

Cortana: The message just repeats. "Regret, Regret, Regret."
Miranda: Any idea what it means?
Sgt. Johnson: Dear Humanity... we regret being alien bastards. We regret coming to Earth. And we most definitely regret that the Corps just blew up our raggedy-ass fleet!
Marines: Hoo-rah!

I started in Halo 2 (on another account sadly) and played Halo 3 till I hated it (the BR) and can say that yes- I will probably think of Reach as the high point of Halo.
Halo 2 will always be my beginning, I will always remember the good times in H3 before the game crashed and burned, I'll always reminisce ODST's FF and appreciate Anniversary- but Reach (to me) will be that point where Halo almost became perfect.

I always find it interesting how people's perspective of the games differ. I personally am and always will be a Halo 2 fanboy (probably because I was ~12 years old and could play 20-30 hrs/wk), but it's intriguing that you find Reach to be better. I certainly will agree that it has more polish and a "completed" feel than any of the other games, but to each his own.

Maybe, I always thought Reach took more flak than it deserved. I guess it depends on how good Halo 4 is.

This is where I go to burn off some steam from all that repressed anger I have. If I insulted you on b.net, don't take it literally.

Halo 3 was the "glory days"

Add me to your friends list if you haven't already. It's a lot more fun to play with people from The Maw and people I know than random noobs.

I got into Halo when I first got my original Xbox some years ago. I played the Halo CE campaign over and over, and then I finally got Halo 2 and Xbox live. I'm pretty sure I had 2 or 3 thousand matches of Halo 2 played. Eventually I got a 360 and Halo 3, but it just wasn't as good and my interest started to wane. Reach was just terrible. I hardly played the multiplayer because it was just not very enjoyable.

Halo 1 and 2 were definitely the good days of Halo. Maybe Halo 4 will be spectacular and revive the series, but I'm not holding my breath.

Burn Bright, Burn Blue. Become one of KOGU, the Fire of Pride!

I've played every Halo game, start to finish. My only CE MP experiences are Custom Edition and local custom games, sadly.

CE: Best damn shotgun EVER. I was HOOKED on Halo towards the end of 343 Guilty Spark.

Halo 2: Best campaign EVER. Beautiful, moving, fast, and almost free feeling.

Halo 3: The rubbery, awesome sauce, you-can-take-this-seriously-or-go-wild matchmaking. Top notch, campaign was good.

ODST: Dark, cinematic, moving, revealing- truly a dark twist of Halo. A very, VERY good dark twist, with the best FireFight EVER.

Wars: Sorry boys, Wars still has the Halo title, and I'm a sucker for RTS.

Reach: Backstory. 'Clean' feeling matchmaking. Decent FF. But the jewel of Reach?

Forge.

Every Halo game glitters as another diadem in the crown of this magnificent universe. Every Halo game had its blazing moment, its own supernova of fans and canon.

Every Halo game shines brightly in its own WAYS, not DAYS.

Burn Bright.

Burn Blue.

Eternal.

Oh yes. I have talked to so many people who say that Reach is the first Halo game they ever played. It's a pitty really

Halo Reach was my 'first'... I didn't 'LIVE' until late 2010 (due to the release of Reach) and I have been playing it since. Although I would consider Halo Reach's 'Glory Days' the months before it's release... as it was when the most people had the most interest in it.

Sadly.

It's still a great game! (and one of the best ever made in my opinion)

Meepzoid

I would have to say Halo 3 would be the classic/ "glory days". Played that game to death. I have only 9 achievements to complete, my weekends would consist of me and friends playing custom games and online matchmaking. It was so on par with Halo 2 but better.

Most likely, but we older Halo fans will laugh at their ignorance.
