Im The Last Thing you See Before you Die.

Doesn't it seem that most of the members online in the community have a higher rank than member? Is it that only the truly dedicated to bungie stayed here?

  • 07.25.2012 3:56 PM PDT

It's just you. The majority of members still have just member (not counting prefixes), just other titles seem more common because activity is lower than before.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

The Septagon is mostly full of "old people".

Everywhere else is mostly members.

This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends;
Not with a bang but a whimper.

Ever...

Nah, just kidding. I think that with the general lack of information that Bungie is feeding us, those people who have not already established themselves to some level here on b.net have dropped away. Don't worry. As soon as Destiny is officially announced, there will be another "baby boom" much like that which occurred after around Halo 3. I'm sure they will be as made fun of as I was (am?).

We aren't here to ruin your experience (Well Qbix is).

Septagon is where many "old-school" people stay. Rest of the forums are filled with regular members.

Although I'd like to also say that there are more active black bars in every forum but this one. I'd also like to say that there is a greater ratio of active older members, to active new members, than there used to be.

I don't think this is because of the "disloyalty" of the new users; but instead, because there are much more users that have joined around the Halo games' prime, then during these "dark" times.

Its mostly members. Check out the flood and you'll see.

I think the Community forum has been like this for a while, but it has been exaggerated by going dark for so long. If you look at the flood it's still mainly members, although that could equally be a comment on how often people get banned =/

Glory and fame, blood is our name!
Souls full of thunder, hearts of steel!
Killers of men, a warrior's friend!
Sworn to avenge our fallen brothers!
Sons of the gods, today we shall die.
Open Valhalla's door!
Let the battle begin, with swords in the wind! Hail Gods of War!

Us vets are more active so you think there is more of us but its really just the fact that 10 of us have the same post count as 100+ regular members in a month.

There are way more regular members, but they're just not as active as the higher "ranked" members.

For some reason when I entered this thread and started reading responses I thought of that movie Rango. (Ye ol' skipper)

On topic: I think it's the pace of this forum - so you notice the title bars more. It's must slower than any of the other forums (mainly when Bungie isn't dark) but most of the "regulars" here have been around all the other game forums. I feel that this forum is more of the homestead to what Bungie is actually about. You can actually see when new people start taking part in discussions.

If you have regularly posted here for even just a year, you get a good glimpse of seeing users come and go. But there are plenty of colorful hats getting around all of bungie.net.

The Community Forum has a high proportion of Mythics and Legendaries, yes, and not many normal members, as it's the mainstay of Bnet.

I'd hazard a guess and say the majority of normal members who are 7th Column regulars are either members like Hoobla who must get banned all the time, or alts.

But OP just because someone has a fancy hat does not mean they are better or more special in any way. The fact that people have that attitude on here is one of the problems with our community today.

Titles do show dedication but do not mean you are the most dedicated. There are many hardcore Bungie fans who hardly use the forums or just lurk.

I think the word "rank" is not a good word for titles as it means one is superior to another when we are all equals.

I would say this forum is mostly composed of larger ranks because this has become a gathering ground for older members.

Pretty much this. There is also a lot more older members on this forum as opposed to the other forums around here.

Can you ever comment on someones thread without trying to correct them? Where did he ever claim anything you just said?

Sorry OP, we're not all like this.

Regular members tend to post in other sections of the site (ex. The Flood). It only seems like the majority of the members are of "higher rank". It's like saying the majority of the nation is on one side of the political spectrum, when in reality it's just your region.
