Owning Noobs Since 05

"I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather. Not screaming in terror like his passengers."

Jim Harkins

I can't believe I've been here for 7 years. I remember when I first joined I wouldn't dare post anything. I'm from Brazil, my first Language is Portuguese my second is spanish then English is my third. For a couple years I wouldn't dare post because my English sucked (English is hard :[). I struggled to understand what people were talking about, and I didn't know what to write so I decided to lurk mostly. Bungie.net helped me improve my reading and writing. Here was where I learned the difference between Your and You're lol.

Anyways I don't want to make this sound like a blog. I want to know what keeps you coming back to Bungie.net?

For me its because the community is good for the most part and one thing that really stood out to me is how much Bungie cares about their fans. I love it how they'll interact with us and listen to some of our opinions. They even put fan made maps in matchmaking. Even though people like to hate on Shishka he did listen to us. I remember when we wanted action sack as a playlist (H 3) and he put it up. He even let forum goers volunteer to test out maps and gametypes. Bungie spoils us on Bungie day which is awesome! Bungie is a great company and it will always have a special place in my....brain? I'm looking forward to per-ordering destiny :]

We aren't here to ruin your experience (Well Qbix is).

I'll be honest, nothing. I mostly come here on summer. College is just around the corner and I won't be on that much.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

IDK, I mostly come back for the Flood forum.

Congrats on 7 years of Bungie.net.

I keep coming back to see what the community are doing, and because Bungie still interact with us a considerable amount even though they are dark.

I keep coming here because I don't feel that I have too much else to do. Videogames don't hold my attention like they used to and TV shows aren't as good (at least to me) as they used to be. Movies are a "once you've seen it" situation and this is pretty much the only place that changes constantly while at the same time staying the same. I don't feel like joining another forum because I don't want to have to start over again and have to work my way up to feeling as if I belong anymore.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.
~M.D~

That's nice. Bungie is amazing though. Love them.

Very awesome, man.

What keeps me coming back? People like you.

  • 07.25.2012 4:45 PM PDT

Mostly the community is what draws me back, but I, like you, lurk mostly (Although it is not because a language barrier).

Happy Bnet Bday, my man.

Coming to this site was my first real attempt at social media. This was the place that taught me it was possible to become friends with someone you may never meet face to face. I've been fortunate enough to meet some incredible people over the years. That's why I'm still here.

As to the evil which results from a censorship, it is impossible to measure it, for it is impossible to tell where it ends.

Going on four years here. Cheers to four more.

What a hipster.

We have the option to leave?!
Seriously though, congrats man. It takes a certain type of patients to stick around something for that amount of time. Many people say they want to, but not many people do, and for that I give you props. You've earned it ;).

Same.

Only found one grammar mistake in the OP, save for typos. Wrong version of "its".

Congrats on 7 years. I'm coming up to 5.
