It isn't instantaneous regeneration, he will hurt BAD for a few days/weeks. Though we can't see it....Oh, how I long for the day when characters are badly wounded and you can tell just by looking at THEM and not health bars......

Seargeant Johnson is not invincible!!

He is immune to the flood because he has a disease which was caused from over exposure
to plasma grenades, masterchief doesn't want to turn him in to the gov. because they would kill
him to make an antidote to the flood.

Wow, I won't argue with that... of course, we did say all that on the first pag of this topic though. *sad because people simply answer and don't read everyone elses answers*

my god you people are reading too much into this...

He can't die in the game because he is in the cutscenes and a main character...
He is invincable to the flood, that doesn't make him completely invincable...
In the books, he could die...
In the game, he has to stay alive!!

And when he said hide behind me, he was joking, saying he was great at kililng, so that any covenant he comes across would be dead before they manage to shoot.

Why is this in the halo 3 forum?

And anyway, he didn't know he's invincile. It's called "bragging/joking."

It's a stretch, but we know Sergeant Johnson will be in the 3rd Halo, so, we want to know if he will be impossible to kill.

I'm gonna guess "probably," unless Bungie wants to make an "altrenate endings" game, which I HATE. Having multiple endings dillutes the story and makes all the endings less meaningful.

Here's a quote from the mighty Joe Staten about subjects such as Johnson's experience with the Flood:

"HSP: Would the books make the cut?

JS: The books are, for better or worse, part of the canon. In the future we may choose to revise or flat-out ignore some of the less appealing ideas (Johnson's biological immunity to the Flood, for example), but folks should treat them as defining elements of the Halo universe."

Alright, we'll reduce this to kindergarden level since you can't extrapolate these stupidly obvious points and you're going to insist on being an ass about it.

A) The author of the book came up with some "creative" notions to explain certain situations that Bungie has tolerated or accepted, but not necessarily gotten behind as the gospel truth of their storyline.

B) In game, Johnson needs to survive to progress the events of the story. None of the other nameless marines are needed. Therefore it's impossible to kill Johnson.

Simple enough now?

Wow... guys, you do realize you have wasted two pages talking about possibly the stupidest thing in existence. Is Halo the only game you ever play? Come on.

nope, sorry pal still doesn't make sense, although i have somebody explaining it to me right now... lemme get back to you on that. o and by the way, you might want to revise your definition of kindergarten level. i have never met a kindergartener that knows what "extrapolate" means.

I'm not doing to debate it with you. If you don't get it it's your own problem, and you could use a little more tact than insulting people who go to the effort to not only answer your question, but look up relevant quotes and cite the important parts so you don't have to read the whole thing.

i know, i read the books, ok dr. halsey speaks with master chief, spartan 117, john, and she had a record on sgt. johnson and she said (not word for word) that sgt johnson was carrying a box of plasma grenades and he dropped it and they all went off and they affected his bloodstream and his body, he survived obviously, but he became full of plasma and somehow this repels the flood, probably because the flood cannot affect a host when too much plasma is involved, and no i -blam!- you not, thats what it said in the book, i think the 2nd one, i think, but thats what it said, believe me, i don't make things up. ( i have no -blaming!- idea of how he dropped it but i think he was distracted by something on the cruiser, i need to read it again)

yeah, i knew all that, i read the books too, i just didn't understand how it made him invincible in the game. (halo 2 ne way.) but thats cleared up like ten thousand times over now and in about 5 diff ways. thanks though.

the reason he's so invinsible is because when he was still a private and fighting the covenant he stole a crate of plasma grenadesand thew all of them to save his fellow marines and because of throwing too many plasma grenades he got some kind of infection bio- boi some word with a B in the beginning of it and the infection mixed with something, he refused to be cured, and eventually became invulnurable from it.......:)
