Or are we the majority?

Meaning, when Bungie releases a game, does the majority of its sales come from this forum.

Or are we greatly outnumbered by randoms that have never been to this site?

What do you guys think? How big of an impact do we, the forum tryhards, have on Bungie's overall revenue?

  • 07.26.2012 7:34 AM PDT

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I don't think millions and millions of people use Bungie.net.

  • 07.26.2012 7:34 AM PDT

I feel like forum posters will buy the games, but the majority done use forums

True. But how big of an impact do we actually make?

I'm pretty sure we don't constitute 15% of the revenue Bungie makes when they release the game. Maybe a little bit less.

  • 07.26.2012 7:42 AM PDT

thou shall not smite thee. thou shall smite thi with gluteus maximus fire.

there are alot of people out there that only know bungie through halo and probably abandoned bungie when halo was traded. I think its safe to say that this next bungie game will be a community game more then a giant blockbuster

Here's my twitter, in the off-chance you want that too.

Bye.

We constitute most of the people who use nameplates :-)

While we don't, and won't, make up even half of their game sales, I'm sure they are grateful that we call their site home. :-)

“Oh, it’s a little bit of everything, it’s the mountains, it’s the fog, it’s the news at six o’clock, it’s the death of my first dog, it’s the angels up above me, it’s the song that they don’t sing, It’s a little bit of everything.”
- Dawes, A little bit of everything

We may be the vocal minority, but let us not think that because we do not represent the larger audience that our opinions hold no weight.

We are the proverbial 1%; small in numbers, greater in influence.

We must control the 99%, enslave them economically and bully them into silence so that Bungie games are exactly what we want.

He who controls the voice, controls the universe!

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

I would think that probably only one-third of Bungie's fanbase has a B.net account.

You imply a level of control over Halo: Reach matchmaking that we no longer have. Or, in your vernacular, it isn't our shiznit anymore.

“Strange,” mused the Director, as they turned away, “strange to think that even in Our Ford’s day most games were played without more apparatus than a ball or two and a few sticks and perhaps a bit of netting. imagine the folly of allowing people to play elaborate games which do nothing whatever to increase consumption.”

The Black Chapter!

If memory serves, about 2/3 of Halo players have a B.Net account with linked gamertag. How many of those are forum goers and how many are just here for the stats isn't something I can say. If anyone from Bungie has data on how many accounts have linked gamertag and have never posted, that might help your question.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

According to Bungie.me (which hasn't been updated for a while) it says that there are:

Member: 4904
Heroic: 582
Legendary: 702
Mythic: 328
Ninja: 32
Employee: 37

Now, there are most likely a LOT more members than that, this is just a very rough estimate, but it gets you thinking even more.
