Subject: HEALTH PACKS RETURN?

DerrriFT

You guys remember the health packs back in Halo:CE and the health gauge? Of course you do. I just wanted to know what you Halo enthusiasts out there think about that, should that be brought back in Halo 3?

i quite like the idea actually. though i think i'd prefer a kind of inventory system or something. like pick them up and store them as opposed to use them as soon as u run over them

I actually prefered the Health Pack system. In Halo 2, you still had a set amount of health (No, you did NOT regenerate it) but you just couldn't see how much you had lef. In Halo, you could see how much health you had, and heal yourself with the health packs that started to become rather scarce toward the end of the game.

I'm sure that everyone who is going to post in this thread are the same people who have posted in every other thread by this title.

I liked them, slowed down the gameplay a little and rewarded those who controlled certain parts of the map. I also like Halo 2's version though, and I would assume it's going to stay that way. It simplifies things a little.

I don't want them back. They just arn't needed in a game like this

I think that the should have a system a little like Ghost Recon:

Once you're shot, you're wounded, gut a health station or a medic(someone's Idea in "Ideas for Halo 3"thread) could raise your health, up to about 75%

It may be too complicated

I personally don't want them back, it makes things complicated. But it wouldnt be a bad idea to have the option to play a custom game with options to setup health packs and a health gauge for a different game type.

Damn snipers!!!

I have now read the books...

your stupid makes my brain sad

i consider health packs a power-up...and i like the fact that H2 had only two types and they were verry limited....i like and use them but to many power ups would ruin the game....id be intrigued with mabey a degenerating shield, ie the more times your shield has to recharge itself the lower the overall level is...so if youve been alive for a while you only have 75% shield...then mabey a power up for that........... existing overshield would work

Maybe in MP, but definitely not in campaign.

Ajk41 you actually do regenerate health in Halo 2 even though you couldn't see it. Check the manual on MC's armor so yea.

I disagree entirely, I think it should be one or other system. I think there should really only be the overshield powerup-ways though, I don't count healthpacks as PU's however. As for the idea of a ghost recon, I personally despised that system!

In halo 2 you technically have infinite life if you stay alive between every shield recharges. so basically you dint needed medic packs. i dont think puting it back would be good since the Spartans are equiped with a biochimic liquid that slowly regenerates the tissues & other dammages, so you dont really need a medic between shield recharges... thats my theory.

I like the health system. In halo 2, there is no point in shooting people unless you believe you or a teammate can kill them. In halo 1, it was good to shoot people because you could at least get their health down.

I think what would be cool would be not health and shield, but armor and shield. The shield is like in h1 and h2, but the more the armor is damaged, the slower the shield recovers, until you don't have a shield. The armor would not regenerate, unless with a maintenece pack or something like that. And of course, you die when both are down.

Not a fan of the health packs...it's too gimmicky, I suppose. It's been done to death by every other game and they just look out of place; if you're trying to create an immersive world, it makes no sense to have them. Why would there be health packs for your character lying all over an alien ship or battleground?

Health packs were okay in Halo 1 but you spent to much time worrying about wre to find you next health pack, and it subtracted time from the game.

I think what they have going with the health system in a Halo 2 is good, its also very similar to the Call od Duty 2 health system.

I'm a huge lover of all things HaloCE but I don't want to see health packs come back.

Location: Outlaws' Summit.

i am going to roughly quote someone who said :

"THis is the new Mark VI armor. bringing pack health packs would be a downgrade"

and i agree. think of halo 3 as halo 2, part 2. its gonna pick up right where it left off. MC wont even have to 'downgrade' to health packs

i prefer the way it is now, but thats just me. *sigh * everyone has an opinion :-D

Health packs made it hard, but I like hard. I think it makes the game unrealilistic

That little blue bar above your motion sensor. That's not your health.
