In the moderator's toolbar there is a button to move posts to other forums. Typical mod command, but what good is it in a chapter?

Whas it left in there residually from the overall site overhaul (most likely) or might we be seeing the ability to create more than one forum in the near future?

I would hope so, because that button will be useless to everyone.

I would imagine that the integration with the forum system means that you have to have all of our tools.

Maybe they plan on making it so you can move posts off the forum and into the news?

Or....

If you are Admin-level in multiple groups, perhaps you can move/copy the post into the forums for other groups that you have sufficient rights to do so.

Just a guess.

Nope, tried it.

bah

And I'll confirm that too. Can't move anything from one chapter to another.

The move option within Groups Forums might be described as an "artifact" related to moderator tools. Shall be dealt with eventually: all good things, in good time.
