Just as written . . . What is the best Halo book?

I remember always liking First Strike the best, but I haven't read any after Ghosts Of Onyx, nor have I read any of them in like, six years. I'm meaning to reread them soon.

We should know better, because we are better.

Contact Harvest. Why? Because it made Johnson something other than a 2-dimensional stereotype. Funny how people rag on Reach for having bland characters but never remember the others.

Ghosts of Onyx, hands down.

Fall of Reach (the original), you can't beat a good origin story.

If you cannot provide proof or simply cannot provide a rational, logical argument then don't say anything at all.

Ghosts of Onyx, but I haven't gotten the chance to read the Forerunner series or the book after Glasslands.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Hard tie between Ghosts of Onyx, Fall of Reach and Cryptum.

Out of the short stories, I'd go with Dirt, hands down.

Probably a tie between fall of reach and contact harvest

  • 07.29.2012 6:43 AM PDT

Hanger one I just shredded with the SMGs until ammo was out and I just threw 'nades like a boss while BRing.

My experience playing Cairo Station on Legendary

Fall of Reach or Ghosts of Onyx. Loved them both, the character development was executed quite well.

Well I can definitely and safely say that it's not Glasslands :P Worst one out of all the Halo books yet...

Hmm, best, well, one of my favorites has always been the Cole Protocol. I really love that one a whole lot, it's probably been the one I've re-read the most out of all the ones I own. The Forerunner Trilogy (Cryptum, Primordium, and Silentium) are also really quite good...honestly with the exception of Glasslands and the Flood they're all really good reads.

I liked First Strike the best tied with Ghost of Onxy, the only thing i didn't like about first strike was the slipspace battle.

I found the description of that scene quite hard to follow, it sounded like a great idea but I didn't like the way Nylund wrote it.

My personal favourites are Cryptum, Ghosts of Onyx and Contact Harvest.

This.

I found the origins of the Spartan-II's to be fascinating.

This and The Flood. I really enjoyed Jenkin's story.

The Cole Protocol.

This, although I loved Fall of Reach and Ghosts of Onyx as well. The others were good too, but those three stand out the most.

I know this is going to sound stupid, but honestly if I had to choose I don't think I could.

Rain, and Jazz.

I'm either a fool or an inteligent man, depending on how sleepy or angry I am.

I originaly made an account on 07.27.2007 but I wanted to link my GT and made this account. Don't forget your passwords!

The Flood is my favourite.

Though I guess the best Halo book ever would have to be The Halo Bible.
