Subject: GRAVEMIND a forerunner?

[URL=http://www.bungie.net/stats/halo3

I think everyone is wrong about humans being forerunners.

i have a strong feeling that Gravemind is actually a forerunner.

i dont have much proof but the fact he is the only one we've seen and that as far as we know all forerunners are dead. Maybe he is the only survivor

also he did mention he has been here a very long time.

maybe im right and maybe im wrong but i would like to see what all of u think

no i don't think so because how else would guilty spark at least somewhat recognize humans as reclaimers, especially since humans look nothing like gravemind? besides, i believe that gravemind is just a large, much more intelligent form of the flood. and we (as humans) are entirely consumed by the flood and can be considered dead since we no longer have control over our own bodies.

I had a post like this before.
IF he was a forerunner, he obviously would have become deformed and overgrown over the 100k years hes been on Halo. I heard somewhere that the flood grew off of knowledge or something, and the forerunners were probably really smart, so if Gravemind was a forerunner he would be huge.

But my thread ended up as a theory of the flood being more of a biological weapon that doesn't need to eat, it just infects ppl to spread the flood.

He may have some long dead forerunner in his construction but the art of halo novel describes him as alarge commanding power of the flood that is constructed from the corpses of those collected by the flood.

Such as all the flood use corpses like construction material to expand their own forms while they infest them, or they rip them up to make those spore sacks on the walls of high charity (after the flood take over all the bubbly things on the walls)

That's what I think about gravemind too, he is a forerunner to me the way I see it right now.

Forrunners will obviously be sexy because they have studied humans and know how to treat them ;) (jk) All I'm saying is I really hope not.

in the artbook for the halo series, it clearly states that the gravemind is a huge flood form, made of many other flood victims....so he was orignally some kinda flood ocmbat form....and grew, and grew, and grew.....and then we have *drum roll please* The one and only.................GRAVEMIND

Its possible hes a forunner but i really doubt it. And that would be kinda lame i reckon.

Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts, absolutely.

I don't think he is a Forerunner, but you have brought a very good point to those who say that Captain Keyes is Gravemind: HE HAS BEEN AROUND A VERY LONG TIME. Keyes hasn't been dead for more than a year. The Gravemind has been around longer than a year, hell, probably longer than a hundred years. He might have been around since...well...now. We don't know, but we DO know that he isn't Keyes. I hope this has cleared up some things that people have thought were true.

i thought the gravemind was the leader of the flood on that halo
and if he is made of different flood victims then maybe some of those victims where forerunners and he has there knowledge

spartan2010 you bring up a good point the gravemind cannot be keyes unless the gravemind has the power to suck people's spirits up what do you think

Gravemind is the leader of the flood not a forerunner and i know lots about gravemind the flood feed of life that's why the halo's were built to wipe out all life so the flood wouldn't spread.

i believe gravemind is the mind behind the flood
maybe the first experiment of the forerunners
but i definetly dont believe him to be a forerunner
in h2 he used both the chief and the arbiter to stop the activation of the installation
i believe the forerunners might hav wanted it to be activated
i do think however that all the people that qualified for the spartan program might be relatives of the forerunners in some way
i mean before they were chosed they already had some skill that made them different from other people
