More then a 100000 years ago, a powerful race called humans, who came from Earth, were dominating the galaxy. They built big rings which they called halos to study an organism, called the flood. However, the organism escaped, and threatened the humans, who didn't seem to have a chance to survive. However, the humans had a weapon for in this case: halo itself, what killes all life that the flood can 'absorb' (it doesn't kill all life, 343 said that). However, this is not the end. On Earth, most species survive, including the apes, which evolved into humans again.

I think this explains a lot: why 343 calles humans reclaimers, why only humans can activate halo, and other things like why the chief thinks forerunner technology is familier.

What do you people think from this?

Ok, for the Halos killing the forrunners, 343 says so himself, so theres no question about that. As for apes surviving, they wouldnt. 343 says that the Halos kill all life with enough mass to sustain the flood. This means apes would die, but microbes etc. would survive.

Now for my theory. I believe that the humans, rather than being the forrunners, were working for the forrunners. They guarded the flood, to stop it from escaping. This is why it says in one of the books that the forrunners TRAINED their guards well. This means that the guards must be living things, rather than robots. You program robots, not train them. This would also explain the reclaimer bit. The forrunners would probably choose for reclaimers to be excellent combatants against the flood. And who would do well against the flood? The flood guards.

That's possible too. But I stay at my idea that the humans (if they were the forerunners or not) were all killed by the activation of halo 100000 years ago.

That has to be the most retarded theory ever. Since you're mentioning evolution, it's really infathomable that one species evolved elsewhere in the universe, and the same species evolved AGAIN in another part. It's nearly impossible on Earth, and I can't imagine what the chances would be across the universe.

Overall, a poorly thought out theory. Sorry, lol. Don't take it as flaming, I wasn't intending to do so xD

343 NEVER SAID the Halos Killed the forrunners. He states that they, "vanished." If you don't believe me, play Halo1, select the Library and listen to every word he says.

Furthermore, I believe that not all the Halo rings were fired, because all sentient life was not destroyed. Otherwise, the flood would have died off millions of years ago.

the halos did not kill the forerunners. how do i know this? because the flood are still alive. they obviously have needed to feed on something until now. eh? which means something didnt die. and if one thing survived, im pretty sure the halos dont pick and choose. all the races survived.

To better word your statement, the controllers of the Halos (other 343 spark things) did not fire their Halos when the order came. Yes, installation 04 did fire, (343 says so himself), but that doesn't mean the rest of the rings did as well. This could explain how all sentient life was not destroyed.

ragnarog i agree with your idea but the only reason this is possibly is because all life on earth have the same genetic code so if it was not humans then whatever from earth went into space shared the same gentic code as say all animals to day i figured this one out not to long ago but this means it could be super animals looking at old b movies at the end all aliens looked like dinosaurs could the forerunners be super smart dinosaurs what do you think

Exactly. Almost everyone has seemed to overlook that...it never says all of the rings were activated.
