Subject: Bnet Forum Structure with New Hawtness.

Old School Gamer and Proud Member of the Seventh Column

With the new hawtness coming at some point, there has been much discussion about what we would like to see changed on Bnet. However, that got me thinking about what I like about the current structure/organization of Bnet.

I regularly visit other forums having to do with games and other topics and I have found Bnet forums to be much easier on the eyes . . . Less cluttered . . . Easy to follow. (Thank GOD no emoticons)

I am uncertain whether I find this is the case because I vist here regularly and am "used" to the structure of Bnet forums or if it really is the case . . . Bnet truly is well organized.

Your thoughts? Compared to other forums, how do you think Bnet rates in regards to forum structure?

And what do you hope remains on Bnet once new hawtness is implemented?

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I heard long ago there was this thing call a "nav Bar", maybe Bungie should use that.

No, you can't have it. But thanks for asking!

Amen, brother.

It would be nice if we were able to watch a thread, or got alerts to replies. I don't know how much extra server load that would put out though. As much as I like posting images to say, the Penny Arcade forums in their spoiler tags, or to the Rooster Teeth forums, I have seen far too many threads degenerate into lol-catz-4-life and I really like that B.net forces the choice to click or not click.

I coulda sworn this discussion had already started in other threads. Must be the lack of coffee.

Nav bar is still here. It's at the top of the page with the Bungie Logo.

Yes, the discussion you describe has been in other threads . . .

My question is, what would you like to see remain on Bnet when the new hawtness is implemented?

For example, no emoticons.

This is not a "what would you like to see new on Bnet when the new hawtness arrives?" thread.

What do I hope remains? The general layout and easily accessible forum setup.

  • 07.28.2012 12:19 PM PDT

I just hope it wont become harder to post from Xbox. The current layout is fine.

As long as current groups still exist post-Hawtness, I'll be fine.

Bungie.net is one of the smoothest forum sites I've ever been on. I'm consistently concerned at the state of most other websites' forums. I can't wait for the new hawtness, but I do think "the new hawtness" is a lame name.

My old Bungie.net account was created February 6, 2008. Unfortunately, I had signed up using my brother's email account (we then shared an Xbox Live account which was linked to my old Bungie.net account), and he changed the password, meaning I couldn't log in. Thus is why I have this account.

We have a new name for what we're working on for the post-Halo bungie.net. We'll start talking about it in more detail when the time is right.

OMG. This is why we need a save post feature, I would constantly look at this post and smile.

I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

Yeah... and stuff!

@Geegs30

I suggest Achronos and the webteam do an AMA some time near the release of the site update.

Can't wait for a complete integration of 'Destiny' accounts into the forums!

Just my guess, though.

Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

I really like B.net's current forum structure.
