"In Halo 3 not all 50's were good players, but all good players were 50's."

Your opinion is invalid.

Anything from arguing DMR or AR starts, to the things Reach did right or wrong, to why competitive players have the opinions they do. The whole spectrum of anything Reach. Ask a [insert something here] anything thread.

I feel like just wasting some time talking Reach. I'm going to be giving full answers rather than the 'lolreach' and 'kill yourself' you usually see from players in the forums.

Okay go. I'll check on the thread pretty much every night before I knock out.

What do you think of bloom?

  • 07.28.2012 8:22 PM PDT

Why is Bloom?

  • 07.28.2012 8:23 PM PDT

Want a cool clan? Join FRAG!

Want a war sim? The best war sim in Halo, Forerunner Conflict.

Why did people use the DMR over the NR in default, despite the NR's superiority?

I think bloom was an interesting idea, but not really suited for a game with longer kill times like Halo. It was implemented poorly.

It was another idea that was unneeded and put in purely because other popular games have it. It didn't seem like they put in enough thought to realize 'well, this is going to be really frustrating.'

I honestly always choose the DMR over the Needle Rifle just because of the familiarity I have with it. In default Reach I'd say it's arguable which is better, and ends up being more of a personal opinion. In 85% bloom and zero bloom the Needle Rifle is better because of the faster rate of fire and quicker kill time, but I'll still usually stick to the DMR. I'm just more comfortable with it.

I can't. Because if I say something, you'll probably agree with me and I with you, so there will be zero conversation value to it.

It's not better.

The NRs bloom works better as in it forces timing. The DMRs bloom is broken and allows much faster kill times more often.

What about spawns? The stupid fov blocking spawn system.

  • 07.28.2012 9:29 PM PDT

Don't worry, pure dynamic spawning solves that issue. Obviously.

Bungie created the host-selection system.

If you look directly at the tunnel under the base during the spawn trap, no one will spawn there UNLESS your team is literally standing on the 2 other spawn points.

Do you believe Gandhi hopping makes any real difference in a strafe and whether it is worth incorporating into my own strafe? (In the context of MLG settings)

New Zealand is pretty much the best place in the world.

Why is zealot a host based map while sanc isn't?

Is it because the circular shape allows host to see the other player first more so than usual?
