And yet so many pros hate the game as well ie (Snipedown). I just don't see how randomness which the game had on release could even be comparable to competetive play. With the addition to the armor abilities which were clearly unbalanced(jetpack, armor lock) and abused how is it even possible to say Reach was competitive. I mean realistically, ZB just came out not too long ago and Reach was pretty much unplayable before then. So when you state that Reach has been one of the top competetive games because of strategy I just can't agree with you at all. Because 4 guys + Jetpack is not really competetive IMO. Not to mention with no added ranked system minus lolarena the game flunked. So much so that I guarantee after halo 4 release not one person will be like " You remember Reach it was so competetive right?" I haven't even touched the surface yet including things like the massive amount of aim assist in the game. I realize the game was made more for team play but that doesn't make it more competetive imo. Just more team oriented, and less about individual skill. Does that make the game more competetive because you need to rely on your team? That's completely subjective. But does it make it more competetive than Halo 3 for example? Not even close.
