A: Sounds like conspiracy theories.
B: How am I hurting myself?
C: Care to explain how I have a fake reality around me?
D: How am I being brainwashed?
E: Online, all caps is taken as screaming. So you know.
F: What Delusions of Grandeur?
G: Their typing, and your typing, are exactly the same. It's not even different colors. The only difference is, their posts come across as calm and rational. Yours come across as a screaming fit.
H: No way... you mean the car trip I just took into town is real? GET OUT.

  • 07.30.2012 12:48 PM PDT

@Predkiller. When you start feeling the need to scream, you've already lost. Especially since you've spent the last few hours, from what I've read anyway, screaming at people over the internet effectively because they don't share your opinion. Seriously, it's astounding how much yelling someone can do over the internet, and in so many paragraphs.

Get a life, all of you. There's more to the world out there than this little square on your -blam!- computer.

One would think, looking at your posts, that you need to start paying attention to your own advice, my obsessed friend. In fact, are you just projecting your own flaws onto us in an effort to divert attention away from your flaws? Because if your posts are anything to go by, you're the most hypocritical person I've ever heard of. Saying we judge you, and then following up by calling us ALL brainwashed?

You're grasping for straws in an argument you lost over a page ago. The sooner you can come to terms with that, the sooner you can actually enjoy what is meant to be enjoyed, in Halo, 343i and off of that square screen that you've been yelling at all day.

Waypoint Moderators aren't really Moderators, just power hungry and its goal is defend their beloved Halo at all costs. (Meaning that they wank Halo too much.)

BS Angel is alleged foe so, be wary of Waypoint and its moderators! Do not attempt to move to Waypoint. Enter your own risk.

*WARNING* IT IS MY OPINION.

Fact is that ThePredkiller2 lost the argument and thus got banned from Bungie forums for being a idiot.

Folks, I think we should stay on topic and discuss about Silentium!

Now, let's see... Wow! Third race power arises in Silentium? I wonder what is third race.

Is this optimism ? Or how is it called ? Anyway i just love this post.

Most likely a race that has escaped the precursors.

  • 07.30.2012 1:37 PM PDT

Im theorizing if the Precursors had an internal conflict a civil war of sorts and the flood was created by one side and destroyed the other Precursors. I also think that these precursors are made up of several species not just one.

In halo 4 im thinking a lone precursor is on Requiem escapes and warns the others on the precursor homeworld or homeworlds that the time has come to test humanity once again.

It is said in cryptum or maybe primordium that precursors is more than one race.

Yeah, in Primordium the Timeless One asserts that the Precursors are a conglomeration of at least 2 races.

It's possible that internal conflict between the Precursors did arise, if we remove the Mantle for a second, I could see it as a plausible explanation for why they'd join with the Flood - their creation which offers complete unity, peace and "sweetness". It would be a rather convenient compromise to end a war between them.

Sorry for off topic but you haven't provided a source on 343i's canon policy at other thread. Just reminding you for a bit. :P

I know I sure can't wait for it :D It looks to be quite awesome.

I really want to know what evil it is this is talking about...the atrocity is probably the firing of the Halo arrays...which personally I never really saw as too bad since the Forerunners did go around getting samples of everything to make sure that life would go on after they fired the Array. Faced with the alternative...letting the Flood eat and absorb everything? I'd rather die by Halo than face that...especially when we've gotten to see/experience what happens to Flood victims in the books.

Anyways, I sure can't wait to see what new stuff will be revealed in Silentium. It's coming out after Halo 4 right, as they said some of the book would probably spoil the game?

Ah, sorry I forgot about that (conveniently enough :P). I'm probably wrong about what I said, I presumed that because of the treatment the new novels are getting the whole EU was going to be removed from the canonical hierarchy.

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

Don't know if anyone saw my comment on the previous page, cause of the *cough* spectacle, or if it is relevant at all (kind of what I'm wondering), I just wanted to point out that it stood "unexpected allies", which ought to mean that there are more than one? Who could that be?

Is Mendicant Bias one of them?

It's probably, but Mendicant Bias has already betrayed the Forerunners (as far back as Cryptum where he attempts to destroy the Capitol). Since it's a plural term ("allies"), I think it could be referring to something else entirely.

In the terminals he was going around attacking the forerunner planets with the flood. He didn't do this in primordium, it was even implied he was helping the flood out of confusion not seduction.

Five exclamations marks are a good signifier of an insane mind. As is trying to hide from Death in an airtight room. Silly wizard.

"Unexpected allies"
Maybe the Timeless One convinced some Forerunners to willingly support the Flood. It would not be too big of a stretch to think that on an empire of 3 million worlds there will be some people who think that joining with the guys who just leveled their capital might be the winning move. Possibly, this book takes place concurrently to Primordium and Mendicant Bias is the unexpected ally as his deception was only just revealed. It would make sense if the PoV in this book was the Ur-Didact because he wasn't present at the Capitol and didn't learn about Bias's betrayal until much later.

"An act of enormous barabarity"
Maybe a civil war between the Precursor factions. Someone had the bright idea that a super virus was the best way to deal with dissendents. Shooting protestors with a nuke would be the metaphor I would use. Flood proves to be a bit more effective than they hoped.

"Greatest atrocity of all time"
Seems that Didact or Ur-Didact must fire the Haloarray and commit galactic genocide.

My 2 cents.

Oh yeah, I forgot that it was he who lead the attack on their little head planetoid.

Confusion? And with that you mean that he believed the Gravemind's/Primordial's solution to galactic peace, was truer to the Mantle than his masters ways?

The underlined part is furthermore what I interpreted as his actual betrayal, but as Ajw reminded me of, he had already lead an actual assault.

A though just hit me; what would "unexpected allies" be anyway? It couldn't be just another enemy, that wouldn't be unexpected. So, what if it's a reprise of Halo 3 (at the end of The Covenant), I mean, what could be more unexpected than the heroes teaming up with the Flood, or something similar, to defeat their common foe, which in this case would be the Master Builder? It would have to be in the first or second act however, cause in the third, we already know what happens, however vague it is.

Not that I have any evidence, I'm just throwing out a possibility...

EDIT: MAC Blast's ideas sounds pretty plausible too.

I've been a supporter of the Precursor civil war idea for quite a while now. Btw, does someone recall exactly how the prisoner was prisoned? Is it clear that it was by the Forerunner, during their rebelion, or could he have been prisoned before? If it's clear, just forget the last paragraph...
