As I'm sure everyone else is, I'm sick & tired of quitters and suiciders, whether they're de-ranking or whatever, I dont care - intentionally wrecking other people's games is just plain selfish and suck totally. So, are we going to be subjected to this in Halo 3? I'm sure we'll be told its too difficult to administer a fix for this but I'm here to tell you its not.

FIFA World Cup Soccer 2006 allows you to set a handicap percentage of players' DNF (Did Not Finish) rates. As such, you will not be matched up against people who fall below the level you set. If you're happy to continually play quitters, you can. If not, you can set the percentage low and players with high DNF rates will not play you. Sound good? It is - consequently, no one quits games in FIFA soccer on XBL. Good result - I think so.

So, how do we deal with suiciders you ask? Well, they play the game out so the DNF system will not pick them up but suiciding is represented in match stats so surely this can accumulate like feedback too? I know we all do it, but we dont all do it 47 times in one game like I've had idiots do to us before. If we again set a limit which we are happy to accept - say 5 suicides in one game to give some leniency for clumsy players - then they're booted. At least with only 5 kills down, the game's not necessarily lost, right. Additionally, said booted player's premature end of game would now be added to his DNF rate and we all get to not play him.

Sound good? Petition Bungie - whilst I understand they're not going to re-write Halo 2 - there's still time to make sure these idiots dont ruin Halo3.

Sounds good, but it shouldn't discriminate against people who are forced to quit every once in a while. (ie: my mom actually shutoff my xbox, because I had said that I would take the garbage out after my game so I didn't ruin it for the others on my team; and then she tells me "what do you care about these stupid jerks, they don't care about you." Bull-blam!-.)

Excellent Idea please email this to bungie so that they can incorporate it
into their next game that would end a lot of pains.

I agree totally - the FIFA system allows you to set a rate you're prepared to accept and the default is 15% so everyone is getting plenty of leeway. Those who arent getting any leeway are those who continually quit. And no offense but it sounds like you could give your Mum some tips on teamwork and not being an a-hole there. If that's your Mum's attitude I can tell you she's wrong - what goes around comes around.

Well, I do have to admit I have switched sides a couple of times in the past. When I'm confronted with vicious and overtly profane individuals on my own team or those that will kill you because you're one step ahead of him on your way to pick up his favorite weapon.

One particularly bad match had a person claiming to be a member of the Klu Klux -blam!- screaming all manner of distasteful things. My entire team just stood back against the far wall and bore witness to the most vicious beat-down I've ever seen ( Go Opposing Team YEAH !!! ) (Oh yes, and we also reported his bastardly buttocks.)

I should also add that's one great thing about the 360, its feedback system. Since, after all, Halo 3 is going to be on the 360.

Thanks Hunter - already emailed it. - My Liege - as I pointed out already, the FIFA system allows you to set a handicap rate so the point being this is not a strict 'ban' system, its a democratic system where most of us who make mistakes, or the power goes out or who come across your situation (we've all been there) occasionally should not be affected or penalised in any way. The emphasis is on the word 'occasional' however and people accumulating high rates of suicides or quitting too many games are clearly in the wrong, period.

Also, as you point out, for profanity etc, there is a feedback system - no need to quit the game or whatever.

that would be good if you could control what type of game types you play in a certain catigeory. cause i quit games when people cheat, or in training when the game type is really stupid.
