As I'm sure everyone else is, I'm sick & tired of quitters and suiciders, whether they're de-ranking or whatever, I dont care - intentionally wrecking other people's games is just plain selfish and suck totally. So, are we going to be subjected to this in Halo 3? I'm sure we'll be told its too difficult to administer a fix for this but I'm here to tell you its not.
FIFA World Cup Soccer 2006 allows you to set a handicap percentage of players' DNF (Did Not Finish) rates. As such, you will not be matched up against people who fall below the level you set. If you're happy to continually play quitters, you can. If not, you can set the percentage low and players with high DNF rates will not play you. Sound good? It is - consequently, no one quits games in FIFA soccer on XBL. Good result - I think so.
So, how do we deal with suiciders you ask? Well, they play the game out so the DNF system will not pick them up but suiciding is represented in match stats so surely this can accumulate like feedback too? I know we all do it, but we dont all do it 47 times in one game like I've had idiots do to us before. If we again set a limit which we are happy to accept - say 5 suicides in one game to give some leniency for clumsy players - then they're booted. At least with only 5 kills down, the game's not necessarily lost, right. Additionally, said booted player's premature end of game would now be added to his DNF rate and we all get to not play him.
Sound good? Petition Bungie - whilst I understand they're not going to re-write Halo 2 - there's still time to make sure these idiots dont ruin Halo3.
