People complain that in Halo 2 unless you kill a person you do no long lasting damage cause their shields recharge. At the same time those same people probably loved that they didnt have to go search for health packs all the time in Campaign mode. If Health Bars do come back i think Bungie should make it so you have a canister of "Biofoam" (a medic substance in the Halo Books) that you can inject into yourslef, it would get rid of Health Packs. Say you were hurt, you could inject whatever amount you needed to re-obtain full health. Now, the foam in the canister could run out, TEMPORARILY. Just like the the Halo CE flashlight the amount of "foam" in the Biofoam canister could slowly regenerate. Im guessing we could use the "Biofoam" with that unused D-pad.

You should of made up your own instrument. You could have named it the PolarLighting -a-phone. People would buy it and they would all be like "Awh, He's so cool for inventing the PolarLighting-a-phone."

I really don't want the health back. People become too... can't find a good word... nervous? Well, they begin to hide because they don't want to die when they see their low health. This slows down the action in the game because people with low health start camping. Also, the new shield system makes players more agressive. You know that if you don't finish your opponent, they'll make a full recovery and kick your ass.

Having a health bar would be good, because not only do I think in 2500's, they can do bio-monitoring, but also, it would be good to know how much you have left so you can adapt your play style. If you are low on health from a previous firefight, you would be more cautious. Spartan suits auto-inject bio-foam into wounds, and I'm sure the covies ahve a similar system, and so hunting for health packs would not be neccessary as you gradually regain health as the bio-foam does it's thing.

I hated in H2 not knowing if I was more likely to die or not from a previous injury, because there was health in H2, but not a health bar, which to be honest, was a little retarded.

Cautious, that's the word I was looking for.

The health bar was kinda cool but sometimes I just don't like and since this is the next gen of gaming I think they should allow you to pick between a bunch of different suits so you can were a heavy suit for health a light suit for speed or a normal suit which is a balance of both and some in between that give some sort of functionality.

Yes they should bring it back. They should also bring back fall damage. Good idea.

But no fall damage means no crazy jumping! Jumping is one of those things that makes H2 special.

No, it lets cheats explioit the game and gain an unfair advantage.

You say that like people gain an uber superbounce advantage during every single match. For every ten people that superbounce (there is atleast one every 15 games or so) only one of them actually accomplish something. I'm talking about skilled jumping. Gaining jump short cuts, doing crazy jumps to avoid damage etc.

  • 06.17.2006 10:33 AM PDT

You mean crouching before you hit the ground in order to avoid damage like in Halo 1?

Oh right! I see now. Sorry.

But still, there should be health, and some fall damage. I know in the books a spartan can stuvive a terminal velocity impact, but still, there should be some penalty for jumping off a 2 story building other than a slight pause whn you hit the ground.

They kinda/sorta explained it by just saying that he had new armor and that the new shields were "extremely resiliant". But yeah, that's not much of an explanation. They don't really need one, though.

Okay...no offense, but the biofoam idea kind of sucks.

Anyways, I don't want a health bar. Running around looking for health packs in the middle of combat is a large part of most shooters...Halo 2 was different than that, and that's why it's so freaking popular.

Half of me says yes but the other says no. The bad thing about not having one is that you could shoot a guy in the back a couple times, he goes around the corner comes out again, you shoot him again, he takes cover, comes out again, you take his shield down so he turns around, you shoot him more but he doesn't die, he takes cover, comes out again, you take his shields down and shoot him a couple more times, he takes cover.

Really? Because I've developed a pretty good sense of when I should hide and when I should charge in Halo 2....

No, because there still is a health system, health damage is very slowly recovered.

  • 06.17.2006 10:57 AM PDT

Nah, hunting for health packs really doesn't add much to the game.

Actually, if anything I'd be ok with health for the campaign but not for Multiplayer. The Multiplayer works way better with the zero health bar concept.
