So, here i am, wanting to buy a beanie. A beanie, weighing 10oz., or basically, light enough sot hat you could probably throw it halfway from the bungie store to me in the UK. So, i buy it, thinking "Ooh, purdy". IT all goes smoothly, making the account and all that are easy as. Then i'm pretty sure my heart stopped out of shock.

Linkage

a $13 beanie costs me $50 to deliver. that's 4 times more money going into delivery than the -blam!- item itself! This is simply absurd, and i was wondering, why the -blam!- is it this expensive to deliver outside the US (and, i was wondering, inside the US, as i checked that and that's bleeding high aswell. Kritz also informed me that's over 3x the cost of shipping to the UK to ship to Oz. In fact, it would be cheaper to buy a plane ticket to the UK and use the royal mail to ship there for him.

Whyy, is it so overpriced for delivery? I'd certainly use the bungie store if it didn't cost me 5x the item cost just for delivery.

They have to ride an airplane. That's really expensive, you know.

That sucks that it costs that nuch. For me it is $8.77 ground and $51.25 for next day air shipping.

Its has been discussed before (And just yesterday also), the possibility of creating a Bungie store in Europe. Maybe if it were started, Bungie could ship over everything in bulk for a reduced price, then this Euro Bungie swag store could sell them with shipping at a fraction of the normal US to rest of world price.

You'd think that.

10oz, the weight of the beanie would cost me a mere £4.29 (~$8) to send to the US, including insurance for £500 should the item be lost.

For it to cost the ~£25 it costs me to deliever that beanie from the bungie store, that beanie would have to weigh over a kilogram, and that's a -blam!- heavy beanie!

And of course, it can all be delivered bulk and through business channels, so that price can be knocked down some more.

Indeed. A single plane for an item would cost alot, but for just a few dollars... say $8 (Going with elmicker here) it would do more than pay for the extra shipping. It will be packed on a UPS/Fed ex/Crappy late deliveries co. plane with hundreds, perhaps thousands of other items from other people/companies. Add all those $8 together and thats how much the shipping company gets.
If it was gift wrapped and placed in a titanium bomb proof case, flown on military escorted supeer speed concorde, driven from the airfield to my house in a convoy of slick black limousines and all in just half a day then I might consider paying the extra $50.

I can actually send it for ~$2 if i drop the extra insurance aswell. :P. Even then, i still get £32 if it gets lost in transit :D.

It usually costs me about 10 bucks to ship something from WA to FL, Washington to Florida. That is about 3500 miles. I know that a trip from JFK Airport to London is about the same. I flew to the Netherlands actually it was around 3600 + miles from Detroit. So yea, it is pricy.

I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

Bungie actually does not control the Bungie Store; Sunrise Identities are responsible for the absurd shipping prices. I have no idea why it is so expensive, but I'm not sure there is a lot Bungie can do to fix it, other than switch to a different company. As Recon said in the other thread, somebody really should set up a European Bungie Store.

I wouldn't buy it.

I wanted to buy a few things, but the delivery price is rediculous. It's like 'You want to give us money? Oh how rude of you'

All I can suggest is Ebay.
