Don't call people bastards unless you read the books... Johnsen has a biological immunity to flood. he cant be infected. read "first strike"

Johnson has Boren's Syndrome, a disease caused by a 1200 culminative rad dosage at the Siege of Paris IV.

He did not fully complete the treatment to heal it.

Basically means that his brain patterns are continuously changing.

The Flood try to get the brain pattern on a correct frequency, therby possessing them.

He is therefore immune to possession.

How do you know he can die? He has dormant flood genes in his bloodstream, gives him strange regenerative abilities (not tested).

I am not proud of this, but I sat there with my buddy in Halo 2 Cooperative in Cairo Station, Outskirts, and Metropolis, and we shot at him with every weapon we could find. I even beat on him with the unnamed skull on the Armory level. That motha--blam!-a is invincible. Like the others said, Johnson cannot be possessed by the flood according to the novels, however the OP may have one point. Didn't a Bungie spokesman make a specific reference to Johnson's flood immunity when they were saying that not all the facts in the books were accurate to the games storylines?

Maybe I could drop into the scarab on The Great Journey with the Arbiter... perhaps the Fuel Rod Cannon and sword will have an effect... or maybe...

You'd just assume that losing half of your Cerebrum would kill you.

Believe

My gametag is not sparda34b, it was an error, gamertag is Sparda3b.

He already is part flood you have to read the books to understand but it is why he is stronger than other marines.

  • 06.17.2006 9:06 PM PDT

yes, that is why he is stronger. He isn't invinsible, they made him that because it wouldn't make sense if he died, then was alive again and died and came back to life again etc. This was the case in halo 1. He would die, but he would be back again later in Halo 1.

Just because its in the books doesn't mean it can't change in Halo 3. Bungie can do whatever the hell they want to the story, including go against the books. The games are canon, not the books (according to Shishka) so if Bungie wants to let Johnson become a flood, they can do so. All that biological immunity wasn't mentioned in the games at any point.

And it's your connection that's slower than turtle sex.

In........................................................Out .

It does'nt really matter, there are a few incorrect parts in halo 1, for example, when you see the crazy marine, he said he played dead to avoid infection, but the flood actually take dead bodies.

When I read the part about regenerative capabilities, it made me think of him forming a scab faster whenever he gets a cut or something. It dosn't mean he can get his head blown off just to have it grow back and be perfectly alright. The only reason he's invinsible is because he's a main character.

yeah, he's not invincible to anything. Dr Halsey said he had limited regenrative capablities similiar to the floods because of their dna in his system. Any flood could rip him apart or put a round through his head or heart.

Johnson must stay alive until the end of Halo 3 because Master Chief has been killed or knocked out when he destroyed the arc and the when a group of marines (including Sgt. Johnson) find the Chief in the sand, one says "Who's that?" and Johnson replies "Our Hero."

That would be an amazing ending, for a movie, and for Halo, any other game...no.
