I don't really understand the purpose of withholding information for such a prolonged period of time. It seems silly.

Well, if things are in a state of flux, it may make sense to withhold information, rather than give us something that may change.

Not everything is in a state of flux. In fact, developers must have an excellent idea of what they're doing before a publisher will fund development.

We kind of got spoiled when they started releasing new games every year, (Halo 3, Map Packs, then ODST, then Reach).
Agreed. Still, we knew what was coming. Halo 2 being a secret didn't stop anybody from knowing it was Halo 2 being worked on.

Bungie needs to... *giggles*... lighten up!

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Reminds me of the release between Halo CE and Halo 2, and Halo 2 to Halo 3. Three years each time. We kind of got spoiled when they started releasing new games every year, (Halo 3, Map Packs, then ODST, then Reach).

It will be exhilarating when Bungie finally comes out of the dark.

They may have been working on this since ODST based on evidence people found.

Now that I think about it, I wonder if ODST was an experiment in itself to have players all play a large map at once. If Destiny is a FPS MMO.

Just think, once the game is announced, we still got another 8-10 months of waiting.

Don't forget all the announcements about the game they'll probably release in those 8-10 months.

Why would they be just as dark after they announced it?

But waiting until the game comes out isn't nearly comparable to waiting for announcement since they won't be dark anymore.

What the -blam!-?

I don't think I was present for all that year, but certainly most of it. I think.

No way it's been a whole year.

I remember reading the "We're going dark, lulz bye" like it was yesterday. Or at least a few months ago.

OT: I can't believe it has been a year. It feels like I was showing my older brother the ending of that video a few months ago (showed him a few days after its actual release).

Crazy stuff.

My name is Mark Mezzetta and I was a beta tester for Bungie's game Oni and Take Two's game Myth 3: The Wolf Age.

If we have to wait until e3/Bungie day next year for an announcement, it is going to be almost another year. :(
