Subject: A Question About The Beta Tester Signup

I have already filled out the survey, but will the alpha/beta tests be at Bungie or will they be downloads to an Xbox?

  • 08.04.2012 4:24 PM PDT

Hi. My name is Sean. I've been a Bungie fan since Halo launched. Some of my interests include games, exercising, laser tag, martial arts, movies, music, sports, and technology. Feel free to contact me at any time.

In the past, beta testing has been done over Xbox LIVE.

So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

Probably at Bungie. I dunno.

As of now, according to what I've read and heard, it's at Bungie. They are still selecting Beta testers so keep your eyes peeled for emails.

I'm not sure. But I think Bungie do their best to convenience you, if you're selected for testing.

I can see Alpha being at the studio and Beta being a download off the marketplace.

Alpha would just be testing features, gameplay mechanics and other fun stuff...

While I'd assume part of the Beta testing would be testing how the game holds up online on external boxes with a larger audience. (Along with features, gameplay mechanics and other fun stuff)

Bye.

It's normally done in two stages.

An internal stage, to check bugs, glitches and gameplay mechanics, and a global/larger stage, which will test the above as well as the effect of latency, interconnectivity and the multiplayer networking system (matchmaking).

:-)

Edit- I'm not sure how far along in destiny they are but I'd hazard a guess and say it's internal currently, and it will shift to marketplace downloading in 2013.

Brownie lives!

"10000?"

I wonder if they will have a public beta, for anyone to test, like Halo Reach. Only time will tell.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Can people be used for more than one Beta test?

1.) "Crack In Time" - Louder Production Music
2.) "Agressive Sucks" - Moss Landing
3.) Custom Version of "Meet Oscar" - Louder Productions Music
4.) "Behind You Rise" - Distortion Music
5.) "Aurora" - Mark Petrie
6.) "Surge Down - Audio Machine

I've signed up when the program first came out, I don't think there's any chance of me getting in so whatever I guess.

Not much feedback to receive from a 15 year old I suppose.

the only problem i have with mine is that it's unstable,[very shakey],so you'd need a tripod for it.

Just drink a beer and everything will be ok

Another question:

Is the survey supposed to have my current information visible in it, when I go to edit it? I think it used to but it appears not to anymore.

I tried re-entering all my info and, when I pressed Save and went back into it, it was still blank.

  • 08.04.2012 9:54 PM PDT

My name is Mark Mezzetta and I was a beta tester for Bungie's game Oni and Take Two's game Myth 3: The Wolf Age.

Domi, same with mine. Yes, it used to be visible to edit, but not anymore for me. Is anyone else having this problem?

I'm British, so I hope they pick me to test long-distance online connections, etc.

EDIT: Hugely optimistic.

I signed up a while back, but about a month ago I went to the page and my answers weren't saved anymore. I posted the information again, but it still didn't save (you know, there was that green check, right?). Do the answers not get saved anymore or is there something wrong on my end of the problem?

The site doesn't store the answers on the form, but it does save your answers and any subsequent updates you make to it. :-)

So it just doesn't show it anymore? Ok, then. Thanks. I may fill it out again later just to be sure. I don't want to miss out on anything.

You will have to go to bungie, physically.

And then you must speak friend in elvish at the entrance.

Thanks for the answer, and when you mean "elsewhere", do you mean at a different location in the US to go and beta test?

This is actually a feature, not a bug. We changed the survey a few months back to let people fill it out without being signed in, with the intention of making it easier for casual players who didn't have Bungie.net accounts to sign up. The fact that you can't see your previous submission now is an unfortunate byproduct of this change.
