they breath pure methane, its proven in the books.

The books shouldn't have you abandon logic and they are in no means proof. I say again, the author claims that being exposed to a vaccum is "flash frozen". This is blatantly impossible. Space is not cold. Space is not hot. Space is a vacuum. A person with a ruptured space suit will suffer from depressurization but won't freeze to death, in fact, he has more chance of overheating as there's no way to relieve himself of excess body heat.

No, you know on Headlong, there's those tanks in the room with the shotgun, by the sniper(human), and if you shoot the cap, they go flying? Well, put in the same idea, land a shot off on a certain part, and they go flying around! It'd be hilarious.

But that stuff isn't Methane.
well its the same idea though. its pressurized gas, and depressurizes (sp?)(word?) when a hole is created in the canister. so it could work the same for the grunts gas tank on their back.

just to get a little scientific, we dont know what type of alloy the shell of the tank to hold th emethane is made of.
in contrast certain alloys dont cause sparks when hit by bullets.

no spark, no flame

Fact: Methane is flammable, not explosive.

Conjecture: The Covenant are an advanced civilization. It would probably be a good idea to find a means to protect your foot soldiers from simple accidents.

A simple technique would be to use a form of jellied Methane could be kept in a non-reactive state and requiring the addition of another chemical to release the methane into breathable form. This technology is simple and exists today.

Secondly, Multi-chambered tanks to effectively reduce explosive decompression. This also exists today.

I find it hard to believe an advanced alien race capable of starflight and personal defense shields could not find a means to prevent such an accident.

You're still getting too technical, its just an idea, you're just trying to sound smart and its getting on peoples nerves. STFU exists today, why dont you use it? You've stated your opinion, just let others say something

Fact: The Covenant are Imitiative, not Innovative.
