Its not about what I want, its about whats fair!!! You thought we could be decent men in an indecent time. Well you were wrong. The only morality in a cruel world is chance. Unbiased, unprejudiced. Fair.

Did anyone see this coming?!(SPOILERS) Chakas is 343 Guilty Spark? But he was one of my favorite characters in the forerunner saga and now youre telling me the whole time, that floating -blam!- with the -blam!- english accent who just laughed and told himself how genius he was as I fought off hordes and hordes of flood in the library was chakas?! WHY?!

Why the -blam!- did the didact and the libranian do this to him?

Just remember that no matter how terrible you feel, or how much you want to let go, there are people who care about you and love you.

Did not expect that.

That entire book disappointed me though...

I have similar feelings. I thought the book was fairly dull.

The reason they did that was because they still thought there was a cure for the flood, they didn't find till a bit later then they faced the TO that there was no cure for the flood, that humans were just tested and passed for the time being.

I finished it in a single runthrough the other week, I'm not surprised that people don't like it to be honest because no matter how much quality is there it's incapable of being recognised and appreciated by contemporary readers because Bear uses a very old narrative style.

I still think the TO is lying and the cure in fact, exists.

"So- So this means Im just going to be miserable for the rest of time?!"

"No. This means that you have to live life to the fullest. You have one life, live it well. Make sure you die without regrets. Get a new life, new mate, new family. You, out of all people, don't deserve a terrible fate of misery like that. Having nothing to look forward to is good. It makes sure you want to keep on going. Living is a right, not a privilege."

They called him 343 GS because they wanted to, they had no other name. He is not the 343 GS, he's just called that.

Waypoint Moderators aren't really Moderators, just power hungry and its goal is defend their beloved Halo at all costs. (Meaning that they wank Halo too much.)

BS Angel is alleged foe so, be wary of Waypoint and its moderators! Do not attempt to move to Waypoint. Enter your own risk.

*WARNING* IT IS MY OPINION.

He is still 343 Guilty Spark, Chakas is his of many fragments in his personality. It's in Primordium, mind you.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

So much walking...

The first half of the book was pretty much a drag, with barely any moments that kept you hooked. The story is completely different on the second half, when information starts streaming and it got me hooked. The second half redeemed the first half.

Cryptum is still better, though IMO. It was flawless during the whole experience.

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

I still don't consider Chakas to actually be 343 Guilty Spark.

You have that backwards.

I suspect it is actually 343 at the very end due to Chakas losing his data and being ejected out of the ship. before doing so he moved the information that we know as 343 unto the ship and so on.

While I absolutely, whole-heartedly agree with what you said about Cryptum, I still found myself hooked in the walking sections of Primordium. In this time, I grew very attached to Gamelpar and Chakas, and I enjoyed the feeling of discovery as they travelled across the Ring. In a way, it very much reminded me of Halo CE when I first set foot on Installation 04.

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

See it coming? Although not exactly what you meant; sadly, yes. The entire twist was spoiled by the bloody audiobook reading aloud the narrators name, which then made it abundantly clear that he would become 343, far before it should.

I really liked Premordium. Cryptum was the one that was rather dull.

I thought Chakas was just put into different monitors, and Spark was just a fragment of him.

It's not that the writing style was difficult, it's that nothing happened for half the book.

Was still good, but I prefer Cryptum between the two; I couldn't help but think of Lord of the Rings while reading it.

The Lord of the Rings' 3 Volumes are horrendously long...
