Rainbow Six 3 has the most realistic reloading emulator. I like how it shows you taking the extra time to chamber a fresh round when you run a weapon dry.
Players can overload a weapon, I.E. chamber a round, and then load in a fresh clip. If you could do this on the battle rifle, you would have 37 rounds showing on the display.
Something I noticed on the BR... When you roaload, the charging handle moves back on its own to accept the first round in the chamber. I'm not sure if this is the result of the programmers changing the reload time and not telling the animators, or if its an intentional thing that is supposed to be some futuristic weapon feature. I think the game would be a little cooler if the weapons took a lot longer or shorter depending on a few certain things.
For example, the battle rifle pwns. If they decided to make it so that he manually pulled the handle back, then inserted the mag, and then pushed the handle forward, it might make that weapon a little harder to use.
Contrast that with the Magn- I mean, Nerf Gun, or the needlers which are slightly less effective but they reload faster.
