They had to get to the forerunner tech somehow so they had to have some technology on their own.

Even so, they still don't have more advanced then ours. Find it or make it... still the same level of technology.. different path.

Oh shut up. It has been stated that they cannot be taken over by flood, end of story. Why on earth you think that this can be debunked by ill-informed speculation is way beyond me.

And it's your connection that's slower than turtle sex.

In........................................................Out .

Also, the some aspects of the book thing probably mean the insignificant things, like MC getting Helljumpers for the silent cartographer, but in the game, you get standard issue marines, and theres also the fact that the Truth and Reconciliation mission took 36 marine lives and about 100 or more enemy lives, and the fact that MC's shields can be taken out in less than 3 plasma rifle shots, but an elite is obliterated by a single BR burst, or the fact that one single flood smack took out MC's shields, and the AR both tears through flood AND it's actually accurate in the book, that is what frankie meant, the storyline is not the aspect that is not in the game, its the insignificant parts.

OK, yes, it is very true that I'm a dumb ass. I'm not denying that. However, isn't the whole point of a beta to increase the amount of users until you get someone dumb enough to try something you haven't anticipated.

Actually... You can kill a hunter with melees... That is, they'll doo damage. I'm not sure about strict melees however.

not in halo 2

The Hunters all made up for little worms, that all think the same and work in unison. Therefore for a hunter to become flood infect each little worm would have to be latched onto by a baloon thing, so it would take one hell of alot of baloon things to infect the entire hunter.

Read about my gaming here.

is it something with people today? They see a thread about "hunter as flood" or "hunterflood" they don't read it but make a new post

Hunters, called Lekgolo in the Covenant language, are incredibly dangerous foes, deployed more like equipment than soldiers. They are brought in for demolition or heavy defense, and always work in pairs, calling each other "bond brothers." Rather than being built similarly to the other Covenant species with an endoskeleton and central nervous system, Hunters are actually sentient beings made up of a conglomerate colony of orange symbiotic worms. Their impenetrable armor is actually what holds them together. This has led to speculation that they were created or engineered by the Forerunners. This is also probably the reason that no one has seen Flood Hunter Forms as their lack of a central nervous system makes it impossible for a Flood Infection Form to gain control of their brain. Hunters usually show nothing but opprobrium towards the lesser Covenant races and rarely even communicate with any other race (including the Prophets) apart from the Elites.

Flood Juggernaut looks bad enough. One hit KO. *Shudders*

  • 06.18.2006 8:42 AM PDT

Well, primarily, remember what the flood want; they want sentient species, which also must have enough calcium stored in them to feed upon and live on. That is clued to be what the Flood want.
Calcium is a metal that, in a weaker isotope, would be healthier for our bones. Thusly, only creatures with bones should have them, and apparantly Jackals, Grunts, and Drones don't have calcium, regardless. What makes you think that worm organisms, which are probably 1 000 times larger than cells (which in essence means less functionality), are able to create bones? The cells inside the worms have only the chromosomes to create muscle tissue and a puny brain, methinks. They can barely make a form of blood (which is also orange, like hunters).
Scientifically, Hunters aren't advanced enough as a species to be wanted by the Flood as a life form to infect.

No you clowns. Ignorance, for example, would be trying to subvert original canon (which by it's very nature is not fully explained in places) with amateur reasoning based off tiny titbits of information PROVIDED BY the same source that told you Hunters cannot be taken over by Flood, all apparently to satisfy some kind of fan whimsy to believe in a Flood Hunter.

So, you have been provided with a fact that states hunters cannot be taken over by the flood. Now you are trying to topple this fact using barely relevant and disjointed information that comes from the same source - and thus is of no greater credibility than that which states there could be no flood hunter. You are, for whatever reason is beyond me, choosing which parts of story and background suit you and then clumsily attempting to use them to contradict other parts which don't. Do you see how ludicrous you are yet?

For a Flood to gain full control over a being, it must get inside. Only partial control can be gained from being outside. Being as a worm is smaller than an infection form, it is alread impossible to control a worm.

Even if it were somehow posible, the only way an entire hunter could be taken over would be if the majority of the worms in the body were under flood control. It may not even be possible with just a majority, and may require more, like 75%. So, that means a -blam!-load of infection forms. Even if it could be done, it would be inefficient and not worth it.

No signature found. Click here to change this.

No. It's because due to the radiation emitted from their fuel rod guns on their arms, they've developed Boren's Syndrome, and the Flood can't scramble it. Same way Sgt. Johnson survived.

  • 06.18.2006 9:15 AM PDT

"I'm hungry..."

Whad'dya think about this.

Flood hunters could have the same gun, hit just as freaking hard, have the resiliance of the Flood, but not have impenetrable armor. Hell the flood were never combat geniuses anyway, who says that having the armor would change much. Would they use the armor to its full capabilities? Would they stay crouched down like their living counterparts? No. When were the flood ever really watching out for their own physical health.

I think a flood hunter would be kind of interesting, and not at all unbalancing. They shouldn't be running all over the place. Just once or twice throughout the game.

All this is how they would fit into gameplay, mind you. Not whether or not a flood hunter is possible.

The game may not use some ideas from the book like not saying how johnson survived in the game but it says in the book, is one thing. But contradicting the book with the game is something completely different.

Sure some ideas from the books may not be used in the game but neither will ever contradict eachother.
