Bring Back Rocket Race!!!
Posted by: Tanner113
Many people claim that Halo 3 is better than Halo: Reach. If that's true, why does Reach have more players? If the 'true fans' didn't like Reach, why didn't they just keep playing Halo 3?
1. Halo 3 on a good day still gets close to 20,000 players.
2. Upon release, Halo 3 managed to stay the number played Xbox Live game for almost 3 years. Halo: Reach only held that title for one week.
3. Most of the "true fans" are in Halo 3 actually. The rest of the population of Halo: Reach are largely just players who are new to the Halo series or as I like to call them, Halo noobs since they weren't around during the classic days of Halo.
The same was true of Halo 3 and Halo 2. Much of the veteran players remained in Halo 2 until Live was shut down, thus forcing them to adopt Halo 3. However, before the shut down, a lot of Halo 3's population was just people who were new to the Halo series. Since it's the first Halo game they played, it tends to be their favorite one and they'll stick with it for awhile.
And ratings-wise, Halo 3 had higher metacritic scores and gamerankings than Halo: Reach has. And out of the entire Halo series, Halo 3 has actually been able to mantain the largest population for the longest period of time. In fact, Halo 3 has surpassed Halo 2's record while already beating some of Halo: Reach's records. Arguably, Halo 3 is the most successful Halo game.
