Subject: Has B.net changed at all since you been here?

@spawn031

"So much of what we do is ephemeral and quickly forgotten, even by ourselves, so it's gratifying to have something you have done linger in people's memories." John Williams

Absolutely.

New Mombasa, Optimatch, Underground, Voting Booth, Halo 3 + Reach Beta forums. Quite a few changes even to things where we had the navbar, join date underneath avatars and when member titles didn't even exist until 2007.

Still remember when stosh made a horrible rules thread and when polls were added. However, the community is still the same old 7th column.

I'm excited to see what happens with Bungie's new universe.

You imply a level of control over Halo: Reach matchmaking that we no longer have. Or, in your vernacular, it isn't our shiznit anymore.

I can't think of any major changes since I joined (2010). The site changed backgrounds a few times, but overall The Community and Flood Forums still talk about the same things.

I remember when some of you were just members *wipes tear*.

In fact this is what Bungie.net looked life a couple of days after I joined.

Just curious, what made you join Bungie.net right after the release of Halo 2? I had a ton of games for my original Xbox (including Halo 2) but I never thought of going to their developer's website just to check it out.

  • 08.07.2012 8:13 AM PDT

I honestly think I've changed more than Bungie.net has.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

Not much.

Positive vibes.

Not profoundly. There have been some minor modifications over the past couple of years, but nothing overwhelming. People have come and gone, slight revisions have been made, but I have yet to witness a substantial change.

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

Looks a lot different, that Monitor thingy is gone for a start. Nothing different about the threads or people though.

I remember when the Halo 3 forum was the most disliked forum of them all. I remember getting banned twice or three times in that forum too. Great times, horrible posting.

  • 08.07.2012 9:32 AM PDT

I don't always ban people but when I do I laugh uncontrollably...that's if I was a Forum Ninja.

Truth is a matter of perception.

The only thing that I've noticed that's changed is the background.

I still remember when the site looked like this. So yeah, I've seen it evolve a few times. :)

I love Halo, I have played it since the beginning, even though I may not have had Xbox Live back then. Marathon is also a pretty good game. I have been here on Bungie.net longer but got a new account and I am looking forward to Bungie's next game. My old account got hacked.

Thank You Bungie! For the best games and Recon Armor. Also thanks for the early access to the Halo: Reach Beta!

Well I've been around since before the Halo 3 beta, so yes it has changed, several times.

Other than the layout, no.

The Halo 2 manual specifically mentioned joining Bungie.net to see stats and join in with the community. Seemed like a good idea considering how much I enjoyed Halo: Ce and Halo 2.

Why not stop by my File Share while you're here?

~Long Live Halo 2
Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

Looked like this when I joined. More or less when I originally signed up in '07. Then I forgot about the site until I got my own Xbox and Halo 3 and made this account.

No, other than the occasional ebb-and-flow that comes with new games.

I came here in 2008, and I recall the background of the website to be Blackout, and the layout/frontpage was different. So yeah, it has.
