Subject: Petition to Bungie: Put Spartans in Halo 3!

Okay, so people at Bungie probably don't care, and of course everyone is saying that the books have nothing to do with the story in the game and all that, but how can you "finish all the fights you started" if Kelly is MIA with Dr. Hasely? I kno, I kno, thats in the book and the books don't relate to the game, but never the less, the books are part of the story, and if Halo 3 is the last installation in this story arc, how would something like this look in Retrosepct? Its a big hole missing in the story. And weren't the books approoved by Bungie? Why not act on this missing peice of puzzle? I'll say again, i kno the books are not directly linked to the story, but if you weren't going to include ANYTHING from them, why approve them? They're part of the Halo story and universe, like it or not. And I think the majority of fans would like the fine people at Bungie to include somethings from books (especially the Dr. Hasley/ Kelly thing as it was such blatent foreshadowing to something). Halo 3 is the end of a great story, I want to see ALL the loose ends tied up, don't you?
Who knows maybe if we make enoguh fuss about it (i kno i kno "let Bungie work") we can get to see this part of the story concluded aswell.

Books are books, games are games. Not to be mean but I think it's a bad idea to put other spartans in.

your a little late, im pretty sure that the story has been completed for quite a while

Putting *other* spartans in halo 3 would only confuse the casual player who didnt read the books.

I'm not sure if I want other spartans in Halo 3. Simply for the fact that it would kind of diminish Master Chief , Spartan117s, glory. However, if well implimented, maybe it could be key to help finishing the fight.

ok... a petition is an documeant that needs a certain ammount of signatures, unless you got like thousands of people to say they want spartans in the next game then bungie isn't going to put them in... And who knows??? They could put them in... It is possible with the 360 so just wait and see. I think bungie might know what they are doing, seeing that there game is one of the most played on earth.

I kno the story is already written and that most of the game in probably complete (at least I really hope so cuz i can't wait) but god dam i want that stuff to get into the game. As for the whole "not everyone has read the books thing" number one, you could bring it in in a way that would not require you to have read the books, number two: read the dam books, illiteracy is going up, god forbid you actually READ something, and besides the're awsome

Yes, we already have the arbiter to do that job.

Well actually, saying that the books do not relate to the games is untrue. Bungie has said MANY times that the books are the canon to the Halo games. When the authors write the books, they base them on things Bungie has in the Halo Bible...I think. So it isn't impossible to consider that the other Spartans may be in Halo 3, because the other Spartans ARE part of the whole Halo storyline.

It would be too late now to ask Bungie to do anything like addin stuff to the game considerin its on it's way to completion.

You say tomato; I say potato.

let the pros make the game.

Thank you, thats what im trying to say, I want to see Bunge act on that part of the story, even if people say "the books have nothing to do with the game" as I've seen alot of those posts floating around

I really wouldn't care either way if there are more Spartans in Halo 3 or not, but I wouldn't put it past Bungie to find some way to incorporate new Spartans. The argument that "they won't because they said they won't" is a little too closed-minded in my opinion. I'm not saying they will, I'm saying they could.

Master Chief arrives on Earth, he dispatches the Prophet of Truth or leaves the Prophet of Truth's Forerunner ship, a superior Officer (let's say Lord Hood since he's already in the game) informs him that we need some sort of reinforcement. A shady discussion takes place between some members of the higher-ups, a diabolical-looking AI among them. Master Chief is then ordered to hot-drop to a location on Earth (in Europe, let's say) to organize a battalion to strike against the Covenant presence in Africa. Upon arrivalhe is led to a drak hall and enters into an eerily lit room where several people are suspended in stasis tubes. The Master Chief walks midway into the room, and we see a Profile shot of him, with the Stasis tubes on Camera right. There are maybe forty of them in view, suddenly flood ligths click on in succession moving down the hall. The camera changes focus to draw attention to the objects being illuminated. Full sets of Mjolnir Mark VI (or VII) armor. An orderly or non-comm staff then walks in next to the chief and says:

"Spartan III's, sir. A total of Ninety-two survived the trainin process. Flash-grown clones. Strengthened by electrical stimulus and bio-mechanical implants. Trained by holo-vids taken from your experience, and projected directly into their subconcious minds. You may take charge of your troops, sir."

That's one way I think it could happen, I'm sure there are other. That explanation has only one character from the books, and if you can't figure out who it is, then obviously it isn't bothering you too much, which was entirely my point. Bungie could introduce new Spartans without every casual gamer's head exploding. A casual gamer would see this, and think, "Oh righteous!" or "Damn, I thought the Master Chief was the only one, well, let's see what happens." I doubt they would say, "More Spartans, I would not give any Spartan other than the Master Chief the time of day, let alone continue to play this cesspool of a game... Good day to you Bungie... I said GOOD DAY!" If anyone was confused by my fan fiction, I'd like to know what holes I need to fill. I think that script would take a maximum of two cinematics. Is that too much for anyone, especially since you sat through four at the beginning of Halo 2.

They'll do what they want. One little petition thread, or even the largest one youve ever seen, is goign to convince them to change the story to what you want. Give it up.

I've said this many times, you do not have to read the books to understand the game, the books add background and is based on the game, the game is not based on the books. If the game WERE to be based on the book then it would be different, but sadly it is not
