What happens if you delete your WLID externally? Will the account just sit, or is there a way to have it deleted?
I assume that the account would just lie dormant with no way to log into it. It would still be stored on the site though.

Account deletion on inactivity is gone for good.

So even a "manual" account deletion process isn't up for discussion? Even on accounts that were made solely to take the name of a Bnet account, an have yet to post or even sign in again sine their accounts creation?

How do you determine these kinds of accounts as opposed to someone who only use[ed] their account to view their Halo stats, render videos, etc... and not post?

Isn't there a way to tell when the last time they logged in was through the site's moderation tools?

Isn't there a way to tell when the last time they logged in was through the site's moderation tools?
Why would that be of any use?

So you have actual evidence to the seemingly nonsense cries of 'no seriously guys just because this moderator hasn't posted in 3 months doesn't mean they're not active, they're constantly logging in and banning people'.

Also, giving a better indication if a member has stopped coming here/died/had both testicles removed by mistake and is too busy with a lawsuit to come here anymore.

Rejoice!

I love looking at really old threads, users, and groups. It's kinda a mystic, eerie feeling, like seeing some subterranean ruins beneath a bustling city.

True.

You don't need an account to view stats, them not having a GT linked and their last logged in date being the date of their account creation might be indicators.

Don't moderators/admins have other means a normal user wouldn't to see how "inactive" an account is?

Its quite obvious to even a normal user that a lot of accounts were just made to take it.

Though I'm sure Bungie would need some sure way to avoid any "unfair termination" accusations.

My Screenshots / My Group / Remember to follow the rules or you will get trapped in a box.

Well I guess we are lucky that its completely gone. Personally I agree with the current policy which is no deletion. It is better.

Also, I have an old account on here whos e-mail I forgot. Is there a way to recover the email to that account?

No - bungie.net doesn't store the WLID logins (the email you're referring to), so we can't help you get them back if you can't get them back through WLID support.
lol. owned, OP. Just owned.

Was that entirely necessary?

Give him a break, we always say he's got a stick up his ass, now he pulls it out and you want him to put it back? You dirty man you.

OT: I would think having the ability of the user of the account to delete their own account (say they simply no longer desire to be part of the community) would be nice.

Also maybe on the Update to delete perma-banned accounts, seeing as they no longer can interact anyway (just throwing out ideas).

And last but not least, have two seperate (but linkable) sign in's for player stats, and forum interaction.

That way people don't need to create a forum usable account simply to looks at their shiny badges. Or their Sadges Bhiny....

Doesn't a WLID delete after a period of time? If that were to happen, the inactive Bnet account would just sit there forever doing nothing besides wasting space. If I'm right about this, there's not really a reason to not go back to deleting inactive accounts unless they get rid of the WLID log-in system.

They do have that though. The "Last Active" thing on their profile is the last time that they logged in.
