Irrelevant.

Gameplay > story.

I prefered playing as the Chief cause then you get the marines running around making wise cracks like 'get up so i can kill you again' or 'id been angry if i had a face like a squid'.Bits like these really enhance the feeling for me.

I dont know I thought it was cool to get to play as the Arbiter cause you got to see the covenant side of things. But I didnt think it was cool in that you had to "be" the covenant, I thought that since they had someone to do all the hard stuff that was pretty lame. My respect went down after that.

well, i said no but only because of how they incorporated it. i couldnt hate how they went from story to story more than i already do. i thought it was horrible. however, the actual gameplay i didnt like but didnt dislike. i would like it if they had a choice of whether to play as him or something.

one idea i said in anothre thread is that you play through the game as MC and then, in the last level, the MC and Arbitor meet up and then it shows the finale cutscene and credits. then, after the credits, it shows the arbitor start to explain what he had been doing and then you unlock his campaign.....or something like that so that the player is not forced to randomly switch between stories. just an idea.

I didn't mind...

It gave a chance to player to finally hear the side of an elite who is grown up to obey the Prophets but stubornly learns that there is no reason for human to be exterminated .

though I've seen this poll and made my own before the Arbiter sucks and ripped the balls of halo 2

and I dont care for the covanent or how they fell they murdered billions of inocents and they should defeated by humans and humans alone.

As Arbitor elites & grunts spoke often too.

Elites: "Stop hiding you coward!";"Arbitor feeling generous today?";"Ammo a little low?" and more.
Grunts: "Arbitor hides then I hide!";"I'm not worthy";"I'll be extra careful" and more.

i liked playing as the arbitor cuz if u killed all your covenant teammates u could add a kinda stelthy feal to the game that i enjoyed for a while, but other then that its exactly the same and i think u guys care way too much over nothing but thats a personal opinion maybe there is something "deeper" in your "hate for the covenant"

it made the game feel shoter, but it was more enjoyable than a single storyline.

i liked the way that it wasnt two seperate campagins, and they were intertwined.

  • 06.21.2006 12:08 PM PDT

I thought the arbiter(not arbitOr) missions were rather cool because of the help you get from the special operations elites.

Posted by some dumbass:"I liked the story arc, but i didn't like playing as the arbiter. It felt like i was being forced to play as something that the 1st game and the books told you to hate. I mean before halo 2 the covenant were evil aliens who wanted to kill humans for no reason. But after Halo 2 we see that we should feel bad for them because they were being deceived. It just felt weird. The first time i played through campaign i remember thinking, "If i have to fight and kill humans as the arbiter I'm not gonna finish this". In comparison the levels you play as the MC are awesome, Most likely because of the Marines and its simple see covenant shoot covenant. Unlike when you play as the arbiter "do i shoot this guy or is he on my side?"

Well, I don't remember killing any Marines while playing some of the Arbitor levels. So, I suggest you take what you posted up, and either take it home with you or shove it up your A.....S.......S.
