Subject: Why Bungie has been quite so long...

I have been trying to think of some plausible reasons why Bungie has been so quiet as of late other than the boring one of that they are waiting. So earlier today I noticed a couple of articles about Microsoft's new console, when it is expected to be released, the price, and what will be included in it. And it got me thinking... What if Bungie is waiting for Microsoft to release the new console so that they can show us their game. And they have to wait because "Destiny" might use aspects of the new Xbox "720" that Microsoft doesn't want the general public to know about. I thought over this for a while and it seems like a decent idea except for a couple of things...

1. The Bungie Day article shows them playing the game on Xbox 360 Slims, which means this idea isn't true unless they can easily modify or update their game for the "720".

2. This article that I was looking at could be bogus, which means, once again, that the idea wouldn't work.

Yes, there are some problems with the whole concept but I thought it might have some amount of truth. Who knows maybe Microsoft is about to announce something revolutionary and Bungie wants to make their game available to it as soon as possible.

So what do you guys think? Horrible Idea? Plausible? It's what is going down?

Oh and here are the articles for the "720" info I found and the Bungie Day Link.

Next-gen Xbox finally confirmed by Microsoft

Xbox 720 details may have been leaked in huge document

Leaked document points to $299 "Xbox 720" for 2013 (updated)

Bungie Day @ Bungie

And I know that Bungie is now with Activision but they might have insider info from when they were previously with Microsoft, or the new Microsoft invention is so big that they are sharing it with other big studios so it has a wide range of games when it is released.

Fixed it DTA MoonDawg, just for you :D

Halo: CE Anniversary Achievement Idea
C-C-C-CANNON BREAKER!
Let Sgt. Johnson die on Halo.

I'm still silently debating with myself with whether or not you're meaning to use the word quite or quiet.

And I believe the first installment of Destiny is coming to the 360. According to the leaked Activision documents anyway.

We aren't here to ruin your experience (Well Qbix is).

I'd be pretty mad if the game was only released for the 720, even though its highly unlikely.

Ya but then again it, 720, might have some cool new fancy gear we need to experience Destiny to the fullest

Alls I know is that Halcylon tweeted about "playing their game," which may mean the game is in a playable moment of development. It could also mean something else, but who knows. I think they just want to lock down, get the job done, and save the PR stuff for the end hype, because they don't want another Halo 2 messup.

In reality, the wait really has not been that long. They've barely been actually dark for what? A year now?

It could still be a 720 launch title but playable on 360. With, what, 50 million consoles, it will be tough to put such a huge title only on the next console. That said, they could need some feature of the new console.

Note: Microsoft refuses to admit they have a new console next year. That would kill any sales that are left of the 360 for Christmas.

A year since the vidoc, but they were darkish for a while before that.

Data for the new consoles have already been released and many companies are workimg on next gen titles. So for them to wait for 720 is not the reason. I believe there is something else and it depends heavily on the servers. If it really is an mmo. Then they may not to work this lile eve. Every player on one server.

Jazzer008

The legal documents said it was being released for the 720 and the 360. So they could very well be waiting for the announcement of the 720.

I bet microsoft gave them a similar PR deal to Halo 1. We give you money, and then we'll advertise your great game alongside the release of our new console.
