Ok it's simple all you have to do is 'disadvantage' the host, i.e make his shotgun weaker or his BR a bit slower to even the game, it could be worked out so that you could not tell the differnece between the two. A soltion to standbying is to make it impossible to tell who host is and if a connection is lost they instantly get booted( if they pull their standby)

Nick.

Bout the standby. They brigde host, then they know who has it, then they standby. Your solution does not stop this.

Yes but presumably they would bridge host to standbye and if the host lost connection host could change or he could be booted.

First they would have to invernt a way to detect them. Then why switch host and boot them when you could just ban them from live.

They could just lose connection accidently... but if bungie can tell 'in-game' whether they are cheating then ban-away! ( Bungie say they allready have a way of detecting standby)

I thought of the same idea, rather than make the host weaker though, I thought it'd be better if they just made everyone else a little more powerful, like change the projectile speed to like 1000 or something lol... anyways it's a little more convenient than mine, but it'd still cause bridging and standbying, it's amazing how cheating works, one person does it, then another has to do it right back and lower themselves that much, but anywayyss..... lol

Is it just me or would making the host weaker have Exactly same efect as making everyone else stronger.

Just give dedicated servers so everyone else is stronger it is the samething. Unless you can prove your way is cheaper

Your right, i have no way of proving if 'my way' is cheaper but we may have to start paying for dedicated servers because the demand for games would be phenonomal(sorry for the spelling)

There are ways to make weapons scale in relation to the speed of their connection by that i mean faster you are the weaker you get but its in propotion so everyone still the same.

That's probably just as hard as trying to get dedicated servers. Don't say "Just program it differently". I have experience in programing games and other things, and it aint the easiest thing ever.
