I think you need to look up the definetion of sentient.

Not having cities doesn't mean we devolve into less intelligent beings.

I think you might be confused by what happens when the rings are activated. When they are activated they are put in a standby sort of state. The did not fire.

Agreed. I'm seriously not meaning to flame but that theory made about no sense. But that's just my opinion don't take it personally.

Theory #1

Ok, we all know that the Halo rings (when activated) are meant to starve the flood, and destroy all senteint life in the galaxy (obviously), which means that any race capable of interstellar travel, or technology that could potientaily help the flood in their conquest, but why weren't we affected by the rings activation millions of years ago, well simply put, we weren't sentient, we were living in caves at the time, so we weren't affected by the rings activation, but in 2552, we were sentient, until we met the Covenant, the Covenant reduced our civilization to ruins, and brought our kind to the brink of extinction, but the Halo 3 Announcement Trailer gave me a clue, we are no longer sentient, which means it won't matter if the rings activate, because we are no longer sentient as we once were, so we won't be wiped out when the ring activates, the only races that will be wiped out are: The Covenant, and the Flood, why the Flood you ask? Cause the Flood now inhabit High Charity, which is an incredably advanced peice of tech, so now the Flood are sentient, they will be wiped out along with the Covenant, cause the rings were originally intended to starve the Flood, but now that they are sentient, they will be wiped out, cause notice in the Announcement Trailer, when the Ark was being activated, if you look at the bottom of the screen were the MC is, he almost seems, calm, confident.

Look up the meaning of sentient, anything sustaining the flood, do flood talk to each other and use compuiters? They're pretty stupid if you look at it, so they don't need smart hosts.
Oh, and by the way, the Halo's where activated before life on earth even existed, so what are you on about again?

But gravemind isn't stupid, he knew how to fly In Amber Clad, and certain Flood types know how to fly pelicans, and in Halo 1 the Flood even tried to repair Truth and Rconciliation.

yeah but still your "theory" still makes no damn sense.....sorry! better luck next time

Simply not having cities does not make us devolve into less intelligent beings.

I know what sentient means, but in Halo's case, any advanced civiliztion is gonna be wiped out, but like I said, its just a theory.

I'm sorry but I don't think you do.

Sentient means, in a sense, beings that are smart enough to be aware of themselves and their existence. Like I said earlier, lacking cities or technology dosn't make you any less intelligent.

Yes, look up the definition of sentient.
And Halo doesn't target "sentient" lifeforms. It targets creatures with enough biomass to sustain the flood. That would include rhinos and elephants and giraffes. Go to a zoo. Where you belong.

We were sentient beings when in caves. What would have happened was that the ameba that evolved into the multiple forms of human life. At that stage we wouldn't have been effected, but whoever happened to be on the planet earlier, like the dinosaurs, would have died.

Theory, yes. But majorly flawed.

The Flood would have a way to get around, because they don't need us. We've already made our ships, same as the Covenant. If the Halos fired, there'd be the flood, with a nice new surplus of ships and High Charity, and noone smart enough to fight them.
There goes your theory.

lol. your dumb. sentient life in halo is life capipable of sustaianing the flood physicaly(were big enough) and mentaly(were self aware which makes us smart). sentiant really has nothing to do with technology.

Also, The Flood need a certain calcuim number in a host's body, or something of that sort, cause some Covenants don't have any calcuim at all, like Hunters, Grunts, Jackels, and Brutes, and if you don't beilieve me then go to halo.bungie.org, and read about the Flood

Yes, I know about the calcium thing. I believe you on that. I'm not trying to start a flame war, just pointing out that your theory is flawed.
If Halo fires, we die. Flood wouldn't starve because they now have transportation (High Charity, any ships they manage to find drifting, etc). They would find non-sentient beings large enough to sustain them. According to your original theory.

Let it die. And next time, write things in a way that people can tell that you know what you're talking about.
