I am moderator in MBT, Popular Fusion, Serious Big Team Battle and Contubernium. I am chilling around b.net since 04 and I am getting borred of all those conquer and childish attack.

As Archronos said, I thinks we should remove the "member" counter at the chapter front page.

with that, people will join chapter for the content and activities not to be part of the biggest chapter around.

what do you thinks?

Pffft, I don't know.

The best thing I've ever done is steer-clear of all of the large chapters...

its like a large force of win going through fusion, thus creating a chain reaction of a huge asplosion of win destroying any fail within its awesomeness.

No...competition is natural.....of course every group strides to be the best, but don't let a few bad apples who take group wars seriously ruin the harmless fun of competing to be the best. I say blacklist the members who are ever so immature to take part in uprisings. We should also give forum ninjas (Shishka, Stosh, Yoozel, Recon Number 54...etc) moderator powers in groups to better safeguard the group.

Hm. Remove the rights of the many because of the stupidity of the few?

That's only ok sometimes. And in my opionion, now isn't one of them.

Member counts can help. Most of the very active groups are large. I don't think member count is as important as activity, but it is not a bad thing either. I happen to like many of the large groups.

To solve group conflict people just need to mind their own business and leave other groups alone. That isn't difficult.

You aren't in many chapters huh?

Go in the classifeds and look for the flaming dude or topics with large amounts of posts that were locked...you'll see

The problem with group wars isn't the amount of people in the chapters, but the people in them. That is a problem that cannot be fixed so easily. Taking the number count out won't work either because its very easy to estimate, especially when anyone can see the member's of any group. Hell, they could have an exact number in 10 seconds if they really wanted it.

Or maybe the chapters he's in aren't stupid enough to 'declare war' on other chapters. The primary focus of chapters/groups are to further Bungie's Plans of World Domination and bring the community closer. Not to act like five-year olds on an elementary school playground.

Yeah.....you would have to make member's lists invisible to those who aren't in the chapter. Otherwise, they just look at the member's list, and multiply the pages of members by 25(i think it's 25).

I work at Microsoft. I have nothing to do with Halo and nothing I say is "the official word".

Achronos has done that before but only in extreme cases. Isn't that overkill in most conflicts.

Well I'm only in nine chapters. I only run three, with a combined membership of 395... I guess the other respondees are right, I'm just not in the affected chapters.

I was recently used in such an attack on a group, and not only did it piss me off to no end, since I had no intention of attacking the group, it used me out of context.

Secondly, the "wars" are ridiculous. Ask yourself one question. Why did you come to Bungie.net initially? I guarantee you a good 80% of the others came for the same reason, particularly the Halo related groups.

None of the groups I belong to participate in "group wars", and if one of them does, I leave it, because I have better things to do than be stupid about a member counter.

We should also give forum ninjas (Shishka, Stosh, Yoozel, Recon Number 54...etc) moderator powers in groups to better safeguard the group.

Safeguard?

Were it my charge to deal with this stuff, the moment I found that a group was plotting or enacting an attack on another group, I'd dissolve that group and ban every member from the site, permanently.

There's competition, and there's childish idiocy. Guess on which side of the line stands group fighting?
