Ok before you cut me short. There was three bosses that you had to fight in the halo 2 campain. So Bungie has already used the idea of fighting a boss. Now are they going to use or abandon the idea of another one. If so, I would like to fight the Gravemind.

I just like killing things. And the bigger the better as long as its just. And I don't see any reason why he should have his ass handed to him.

Fight the Gravemind? Are you kidding? Like bullets are going to hurt him.

Need something bigger. A thermonuclear blast is more like it and might do the trick.

Who is Master Chief if he can't defeat the Gravemind? He has defeated everything else that has come in his way. This is MASTER FREAKING CHIEF we are talking about here. Bungie could give us the fire power to kill him. I am not talking about a Zelda type battle where you have to hit him for five seconds while he is down. I am just saying the Gravemind needs to go, and I the player want to be the one to put down. He stole my girl, or lack their of, and I hate him for it. I hate him for taking the lives of every human solider that died because of the flood.

Iceman, I know he has the ability to teleport things. So does Cortona and the Oracles. But neither of them used it as a weapon or anything like that. So say what you want, make him as impossible to kill as you like. But that makes it all the more satisfying when he goes down like a -blam!- when MC puts in the notion to kill the freak.

fighting the gravemind are you crazy he'll destroy you in one shot you'd need to get inside his mouth and shoot a rocket into is throat to blow his giant head off or you'd have to plant lot's of bombs around high charity and blow the crap out of him but fighting him would be fun

YES IT WOULD INDEED. In the making of halo 3 movie. The one dude said you will finish all the battles you started in Halo 1 and 2. So, it may sound crazy. But I think he can die just like any other LIVING thing can. So it is possible, but not probable. But if they do add it in the game. It will definitely become one of my favorite levels

Err, I just wanted to ask, I know that Tartarus was a boss, but who were the first 2?

You said there were 3.

Anyway, how would you actually kill the gravemind? Theres just not enough firepower the player can use to kill him. The gravemind would probably survive anything upto and including the shot from the scarabs main gun. Then hed just heal himself, because being a blob, he wouldnt really have any vital organs to damage. It would be fun to do, but just against halo's style.

Actually, looking at the post that mentioned blowing up high charity to kill the gravemind, I like that idea. It seems like a very possible level or 2. And it would make sense to go back to high charity. Afterall, the flood + cortana are just too huge a part of the storyline not to do anything about.

here is my idea for a "boss battle" although it doesnt actually include a boss as such. Different scenarios throughout the game would change this battle of course but here are a few i can think of from the top of my head.

In Halo CE the ending was a race against time to get to the longsword by driving a warthog through numerous enemies obstacles and makeshift jumps. My idea is that the ending of halo 3 should be another race against time to save/destroy something. If the ending of Halo 3 is in the ark then the last battle as such is to activate the ark. You are given 5 minutes to travel through the ark and activate several stations and while doing so, battling through a hell of a lot of enemies. Flood, Evil Covenant, Sentinals.

From the good Sarge.
Of course the story line of Halo 3 will ultimately determine what the last battle would be, wether its in the ark, in another ship like the Pillar of Autumn or something completely different that none of us could ever think of.

That was about the MC and the Arbiter, not the MC and Gravemind.
