I tried to link my gamertag- sramsay12- to my bungie.net profile, instead it creates a "free" gamertag called RearedSalmon(Random-blam!-Number)
....Why?
I have a Gold membership, I play Reach all the time, so what the hell is this?
1. On your Xbox console, select the guide button on your controller and sign out. Select Download Profile. Input the email address and password just as if you were signing into your Bungie.net profile, sramsay12. This will recover the gamertag, RearedSalmon483, onto your console.
2. Visit http://signup.live.com and create a Microsoft account. You will not be using this account so the email address can be anything you'd like.
3. On your Xbox console (while signed into your Xbox LIVE gamertag RearedSalmon483), select the guide button on your controller, scroll over to the Settings blade, select Account Management, scroll over to the Your Information tab, select Account Security, select Change Windows Live ID, select Yes. Input the email and password of the Microsoft account (formerly known as Windows Live ID) that you created in step 2.
4. On your Xbox console (while signed into your Xbox LIVE gamertag sramsay12), select the guide button on your controller, scroll over to the Settings blade, select Account Management, scroll over to the Your Information tab, select Account Security, select Change Windows Live ID, select Yes. Input the email and password of the Microsoft account (formerly known as Windows Live ID) that you use to sign into your Bungie.net profile, sramsay12.
