You imply a level of control over Halo: Reach matchmaking that we no longer have. Or, in your vernacular, it isn't our shiznit anymore.

Active 9/1/11, Heroic 12/25/12

I don't think it's a top priority, but why not. It would be useful to IM Ninjas that we know are online too.

I would like to have a friends list and notifications. If not both, then notifications when I'm quoted.

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

I think groups should have a built in IM. I don't think it would be a good idea for the public boards. There already is a TON of harassment going on via the PM system. If you made it that much easier to instantly spam hate to people, especially on the game forums, I think we'd either have to find a different way to deal with that (beyond just blocking) or we'd find it wasn't worth the time to make it.

IM system would be ok if you could choose who you can do it with you. i.e. with a friends list. I wouldn't want to go on the flood then gets loads of IM's from derps.

PM spam filter (something that gives you a 30 second timeout if you send, say, 7 of the same message to a person or the same message to 7 people) or send-rate-throttle coupled with the already-in-place "block user" feature solves about 75% of that problem, the way I look at it.

I suspect llamas are secretly wizards. I <3 poptarts n' milk. I like me. Grimick is defined as: a logical parodox, the act of funnaling a potato down your throat, and a deliciously flavored muffin (with pecons and blueberries). Norway is the Swedish word for 'moron'. My sister has cancer, so i get to use handicap parking and cut small children in line at Disneyland.

"Don't eat doughnuts on thin ice."

"The pancake, my friend, has officially been flipped."

I certainly wouldn't mind a more instant form of communication no. It would be really cool if this feature could also transfer over to the Bungie mobile app. Food for thought I guess.

That's only because you happen to join for an excellent period of 'test the stupid bloody censor someone thought would be a good idea'. If you stay for longer than 2 minutes we're really a lovely bunch.

Was not talking about tonight, but it seems to have been sorted out (there was some confusion over my identity as I entered with my real name as a nick which coincided with someone else's name...and long story short someone thought I was messing with them when I was not).

Does B.net need a instant messaging service and friends list, similar to Facebooks?

Do you guys think this is a good idea?

Instant messages? no, but bnet does need and improved messaging system.

I think the idea of a friends list is kinda useless at the moment.

I broke one of the cords for my X11s because I couldn't get past the final American course in Doritos Crash Course.

Maybe for private groups - I don't think I'd use a live chat on the mains though.

Also - live chat would be a lot more difficult to moderate.

Funny, I came up with this idea not two days ago. I think it'd be beneficial, but first you would need a "Friend" request to be accepted in order to chat, least in my version of it.

This idea could work, but I doubt the general populace would accept it.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

IM would be way faster than the current message system, so it would be good.

I don't see why instant messages are a bad thing. They only become less desired through the acts of those who use them. They're no different from the system used by the Bungie.net mobile app and people like that system a lot. That system is a true Instant Message system (even though it doesn't show the entirety of some posts) that just doesn't update automatically.

An instant messaging system is just a PM system that updates automatically, and where's the harm in that?
