Subject: Heading to Seattle, is it worth stopping at the studio just to see it?

Hey 7th Column, I'm doing a road trip up the West coast of the US next week, and we're ending it with a few days in Seattle.

We're still deciding what to do there, and I was just curious if it was worth having a quick look at the studio, just to say I've seen it? I live in London, so it's not exactly like I get this chance very often. It's something I've always been curious about, but I don't want to waste a whole day just to look at a grey, unbranded office block.

Obviously I don't expect a tour, or to be able to look round at all. I've been around here long enough to know that. I really just want to know whether the building/surrounding area is a) worth the trip to see, and b) too far out of the way to bother with.

Any feedback from employees or people who have tried this would be great, but of course I welcome anyone's opinion =)

Sure but a certain someone will ask you to move on.

You'll probably be allowed to look around the lobby, so if you've already driven across the country I would drive a little more to catch a glimpse of it.

You just lost the game. Now facepalm yourself for clicking this :P

I'd just stop outside the building, snap a picture and move on. Now you have proof, and BRAGGING RIGHTS! :D

You imply a level of control over Halo: Reach matchmaking that we no longer have. Or, in your vernacular, it isn't our shiznit anymore.

Take a ton of pictures of the outside of the studio, then see what the guy at the front desk tells you.

Bellvue is a slight travel from Seattle. If you want to go, go. But you only see the studio through the lobby. If you see anymore... Well lets just hope it doesn't go that way.

Jerome will still be able to kill him.

This is what you do. Stop in, introduce yourself to Jerome. Tell him you are a fan and just wanted to visit for a few minutes and take some pics if that was okay with him. As others have said, you will not be allowed to go back into the main studio. Do not over extend your stay. Thank Jerome and carry on with your day.

Spread the love...

I visited Bungie once. But I live like 10 minutes away, so it wasn't that special.

But I went on a Sunday because I was too scared to face Jerome. But even on the Sunday I could see this creepy guy behind the door on a computer. We stared at each other for a couple seconds then I walked way. I think Jerome might have an Apprentice.

Come up with some absolutely bat -blam!- insane question to ask at the front desk, and use the thickest most ridiculous British accent you can manage.

Make sure someone films it.

I visited the studio on Bungie Day and I only got to look in the front door and check out the lobby. If you have some spare time, I would say go visit. Check out the cool wallpaper on the outside of the front entrance too.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

You know how you always see those doors with "Employees Only" slapped across the top? Bungie has slowly received the image of being one big "Employees Only" (unless you were 1 of 7) building.

But it's worth a shot!

I would just take a picture in front of the new window art. and wave at Jerome. At that point if he or someone else wanted to you could be let into the lobby mabye.

Only if you are willing to sacrifice the camera, as well as the arm it was held in.

OT: Grab a couple of photo's and maybe ask to stand in the lobby in front of a statue or something. Go with low expectations.
