A little bit of sausage, a little bit of hot sauce, a whole lot of awesome. Have a question? Ask me!
Chapter

I want to get a degree in Public Relations and/or Marketing to try to get a job like DeeJ and Urk. That or a writing degree of some sort to become a writer for them.

I believe that's called the 'Halcylon Method' right?
Now if you want to get paid, that's an entirely different story.

I'd assume persistence in the face of rejection for a lot of people. Own what you do and learn from your mistakes. If your knowledge and portfolio don't get you into the position you want then keep pushing. Persistence is key.

does anyone have a solid plan they're following that they're pretty confident will land them a spot in the company?
1. Become friends with current employees and learn their deepest, darkest secrets.
2. Blackmail for position at Bungie.
3. ????
4. Profit!

I think I might not wake up one day if I did that.

There is also the evilcam method. Just bribe them until they hire you.

Just an average Iowa State University student. Go Cyclones!

Actually, I'm starting college classes next week. I'm majoring in Computer Science. I'm also taking the advice of numerous people from the Breaking In articles and doing my projects on the side. I made my first one this summer, a small Visual Basic Pokemon clone. It's not much, but it's a start!

Seeing as you're going on a similar path as I am, I definitely suggest going to conferences like GDC and Siggraph. Though seeing as you seem to be coding oriented, GDC is a good place to start and meet people. You never know who may get a spot at your favorite development company before you do. That someone could be a big help later on down the road.

I could have applied to Bungie a few months ago and I could apply now, but my mom wants me to go to college, or even finish junior college and get enough proper credits for transferring first.

Also, I would have to move, so there's that.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

I don't think I'd get a job there even if I wanted to, but it would probably require at lease the basics of the subject you want to apply for, and that college would help out a lot.

You imply a level of control over Halo: Reach matchmaking that we no longer have. Or, in your vernacular, it isn't our shiznit anymore.

Not necessarily towards Bungie, but that would be a dream. I'm just planning on getting a Degree in Computer Science and seeing where that takes me. If it happens it happens.
I'm on the same boat. I'll let my life take me where it wants to.

--7-- I've been a Bungie member since 2004. --7--

My dream since 2004 was to someday be able to step foot in those doors. I'm not as naive as some others so I realize my chances of doing so are slim to none. I am currently going for my degree in Applied Science - IT Network Administration. My goal is to visit bungie.net everyday and remind myself of my ultimate goal. But it's a tad hard being married...in Illinois...on a budget.

Uh I'm a bit of a noob, what's an "Achronos"?

Nintenman7: Apply yourself... Seggi31: HHHHNNNNNNGGGGG

I'm not sure whether I'd choose Bungie, but I'm hoping my education will prepare me for a similar job. I study robotics engineering, but I'm taking a lot of time before my robotics engineering graduate degree for an undergrad in mechanical engineering and another in computer science. It's good to be well-rounded and I figure even if I don't spend my career engineering robots, I'll be very useful in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, electronics engineering/embedded systems, software engineering/computer science, and in managent and leadership. Making sure I've got some aptitude in all these fields makes me think a job at some place like Bungie wouldn't be too far out of the way, though it's more a matter of whether I'll love it over my other opportunities.

Op im going for a job in networking and securities.
it's the easiest tech support job to get hired for because it can't be outsourced.

Work in the industry for a year or 2 and spend that time learning other computer skills. If you have a background in networking its alot easier in the end.

Apply to bungie
Get hired
???
Profit

I'm currently getting my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Art and Animation at a little school called DigiPen. I would love to either work for Bungie, or create my own studio. But it all depends on who wants to hire me my senior year, and what games I do art for.

I've heard that digipen is one of the more highly acclaimed trade schools geared toward digital media. Though I don't have one anywhere in Florida (so far as I know), so I'm going to UCF after I get my associates in engineering and then plan on hitting up FIEA.
