Leave it in. That's so easy it isn't funny. It was annoying that it wasn't in Halo 1, so I'd be dissapointed if they didn't see the need for it in H2. I agree with the points pointed out by supporters (like draerdon - sorry if I misspelled that). If you don't like it, don't use it. Just point and shoot. It won't work on people, so that isn't even an issue.
Also, if you want to shoot at vehicles without tracking, you can do that! It will only track when you leave the cursor on the target for a second or two. Now, let's think about this. How would you hit a moving vehicle without tracking? By leading it; by placing your cursor ahead of the vehicle hoping that it'll move into the launched rocket. Now, if you do this in H2--even with tracking on--the target simply won't be tracked since the rocket won't lock on. And if you only have to lead the target a little--just short enough that it'll lock on--then it's short enough that you might as well lock on; it won't make much of a difference. Assuming this is true, then about the entire argument that tracking removes the need for skill gets thrown out the window.
Also, from what I saw, the tracking ability wasn't all that accurate. It looks just good enough that if you don't know it's coming it'll likely hit.
*smiles at the above logic* Gimme your best shot! :D
Just my thoughts,
