So this may well be an over talked subject, and it may result in this being blocked, but anyway,
The spartan in the trailer is so we are told 117. cool, but if bungie were being sneaky, could there be the two possible remaining spartans in the trailer? After what bungie said about 'you may recognize a banshee pilot', its fairly safe to assume that its either the arbitor, or johnson etc. Another fella on this site said he studied the foot of one of the pilots and saw non elite footwear? a brute? or another spartan, possibly john? and the onewe see walking is kelly. very unlikely but has this exact possiblity been considered? if so i look forward to being blocked!
This is also to do with wether or not finally it can be 100% decided wether or not the books will change the game plot, because if they haveny already, then why should they on halo 3?

first off, i don't think that the books have anything to do with the games. They dont want the large percent of people that didnt read the books to be confused by, say, introducing the other Spartans, or even the Crystal.

Second, Bungie said that the Spartan was MC, so it can't be Kelly.

Intresting theroys though.

IT could be Kelly because in first strike dr. Halsey took her on a secret mission

Who ever said they studied the foot of one of the Banshee pilots is an idiot!
If you pause it when the Banshee is flying by you can clearly see that there is noone flying it.I am assuming Bungie did this so that they wouldn't give away anything about the story.

I went back and played Halo:CE again yesterday and listened to what Guilty Spark says to the Chief at the cut scene about being a reclaimer and asking "Remember when you asked me if I had a choice would I do it? Well after pondering your query for quite some time the answer is yes." (something along those lines) anyways, he also asks "Why would you not follow through with what you've done once before?"

To me it appears that we might actually travel back in time in Halo 3 or maybe the Chief goes back in time. It's weird I know this theory has already been brought up but I think it is a high possibility, why else would Guilty Spark claim that the MC has asked him a question before that current time in Halo:CE?

The books have everything to do with the games. You're dumb if you think that. Real dumb.

Umm...ok. Where shall I start. The books are linked with the games, but its not the books that inflence the games, its the games that influence the books. Secondly, I seem to remember a quote from an interview where a Bungie employee said that the books are somewhat linked with the games but some things are left out that would mess the game's story up LIKE MULTIPLE SPARTANS ALIVE. So please people, just drop this subject.

cool, so they said that certain things in the books cannot influence the game such as multiple spatans. cool no worries, but how come johnsons survival can ONLY be explained by reading the books? im sorry but you cant have it one way and then the other, they either do or they dont, if the novels are going to have a swing on halo 3's plot line, then there will be alot of explaining to do to ALOT of people (who havent read the books) when the first halo 3 disks are inserted and played.

oh yes, sorry, also the time travel theory fills up so many gaps, but in a story arc that wants to be as complicated as halos is becoming, it would open up FAR to many plot holes?
