Subject: Is there a new spam filter?

Or am I glitched? I'm waiting a minute to respond, and I am still getting the spam filter warnings. It's getting really annoying trying to reply to post right now.

Yeah, it seems to be a bit slow.

Bye.

That's happened me before. It lasts longer than 30 seconds and you're like "WTF!!!!". I just close the browser for a few minutes and open it back up again. :-)

It carries over from chapter posts. :-(

Key

Nobody needs to post once every 30 seconds, let alone a minute.

OT: Nope, it's the same.

I've just been getting that too. Waited around 2 minutes from my last post just to submit this post.

There is not going to be a new anything, at least not for a while.

I think it may just be a little off right now. I had a hard time posting earlier today, but there was also a lot of thread locking going on at the time, and little did I know, the very threads I was posting in were all getting locked, including one in a group.

Noticed this as well. Must be just glitchy.

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

I've noticed a lot of delays. I assume it has something to do with server lag, since Bungie apparently uses multiple servers to host the boards. Apparently server lag is why sometimes people can get replies in after locks, because one server says the thread is unlocked and one says its locked, so things can sneak through. I'd imagine this is a similar mechanism. You reply, wait 30 seconds, but for some reason server lag makes one server think you've only been waiting 10 seconds or something.

If there's any truth to my supposition, and since it seems to be noticeably more laggy in that regard, I wonder if Bungie is doing something in their server closet. Perhaps the Webmaster is back, and is once again taking up residence in there.

I'm going to be hopeful. They're running off one server because the rest are being loaded with bungie.next for release tomorrow.

Swag punks, fuck off!

That actually just happend to me in the Flood, I don't know. I waited almost 1 minute and it still filtered me out, I just didn't reply after that. It's most likely a type of bug or something.

Yeah it's sometimes 2 minutes for me too today. I think something is wrong.

  • 08.13.2012 12:59 PM PDT

Not sure, but I've gotten the same thing numerous times today.

  • 08.13.2012 1:02 PM PDT

I've noticed replies to threads having muddled time stamps right now as well...

I've also seen threads above another thread, then when refreshed, it's below with no new posts for several minutes.

I have a theory. Bear (rawr) with me on this. Me thinks they have upped the spam delay due to recent events.

Maybe. I mean, I'm sure the mods have noticed the larger amount of bans they've been handing out.

I think this might be it, but I don't really know.

Edit: Never mind, it looks to me like there is just a lot of server delay, as per evilcam's theory.

What a waste....

Yeah, this is getting weird. I don't remember it being this long, and now it counts in private groups for the main filter.

:/

My god, say it ain't so.

OT: I never get the spam filter. But evilcam pretty much just gave the most likely reason for the long wait.

Good, I thought I was the only one experiencing this.

Now I'll have to wait another two minutes, damn.

Uh I'm a bit of a noob, what's an "Achronos"?

Nintenman7: Apply yourself... Seggi31: HHHHNNNNNNGGGGG

This has been happening to me-- I believe if you keep trying to submit after getting the spam-filter message once it resets your timer so that if you hit the submit button before your 30 seconds you'll have even more time to wait.

Not sure whether this is accurate, but I've always thought it worked that way-- that or a clicked pot never boils, one of the two... Just my experience...

Can this also explain the timestamp glitches happening lately too?
