Best advice I can give.

Chill, have fun, and use common sense. If an infraction occurs, learn from it and move on. It is a game website. We aren't here to ruin your experience (Well Qbix is).

If you are serious about being a longtime member here, this will come naturally.

If that's the best advice you can give, well then that's not good.

"Common sense" doesn't exist. It is a term used to describe simple things that you don't know the word for. Your idea of "common sense" and mine might be totally different. If you ban someone for not using their "common sense", then you're banning them simply for something you don't like. It's nearly impossible to defend yourself against that.

It might not be possible to make rules that cover every possible situation. But it's more than possible to give people clearer guidelines than "common sense" and "safe for work". It would make it more clear who should be banned, and it would give people who think they were wrongly banned something to use to argue their case.

Someone's looking for a ban?

For what?

Progress would be made. Politics wouldn't exist. Sports would be less hostile.

Sounds boring.

I wonder if the great sport of People-Hunting would be less hostile. I doubt it.

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

As a ninja I'd just use my best judgement on the specific situation. So I'd be a 'grey area' kind of ninja. On some matter I'd be 'black and white'

If you know a thread is inappropriate don't post in. Simple as that. You shouldn't blame the ninjas.

Rules should never be gray. They should be black and white, don't do this, don't do that, this is okay, etc.
The rules used to be like that. Everybody complained that they were too long and difficult to read.
But people only look to the rules when they get in trouble in order to find some loophole.

They were, and even then we complained that no two ninjas meted out the same punishments to equal infractions. I still want the three short rules next to the box when you're posting though.

Still, that can't really be helped. Either the ninjas are bansticks with no real say or input, or they actually use their better judgement as to what would be best for the community at large. It's better when they think for themselves. Yes, it means consistency is never going to happen, but when did it ever?

Every new member should read this. The mods in this site are very experienced, if you respect the community the mods will respect you.
By which you naturally mean that the mods will respect your mother. Repeatedly, and sometimes more than one of them at once. She's a classy lady. ;)

Yeah I guess there should be a sort of 'rulebook' that aids in their decisions.

Guides are well and dandy....hence the rules set forth by our hosts...but, there are benefits to thinking for yourself.
