If so, i think bungie should go all out and have a deep cutscene laden story for halo 3. I mean including Dr.Halsey and the extra spartans. I mean my theory is, that if you havent read the books, you could care less about the story and just want to play the game. (and thats fine) So whats it going to hurt. Id love to see this.

Halo's a hell of a drug.

I would to. Put me on your political agenda. I like the story more than MP.

I agree, those who don't follow the story just want a shooter. They can't get confused if they skip the cut scenes or just jump right on live.

The cutscene detailing the events that took place within the novels should've been in the beginning of Halo 2.

Farewell

A collection of scenes explaining the events that followed post-destruction of Halo. This semi-lengthy cutscene is completely narrated by The Prophet of Truth(although small snips of characters' dialogue do apply in the scenes) and basically tells everything that happened in Halo:First Strike(3rd Halo novel by Eric C. Nylund). We begin with MC's Longsword adrift in space as the camera pans over the Longsword's bow as MC gazes out silently into the debris, how he found a lone surviving Pelican with survivors, a scene of Covenant battleships arriving to investigate Halo's debris field on Cortana's warning, how MC and his ragtag crew captured the Ascendant Justice, going back to Reach(you will be able to move around a corridor of the ship while approaching Reach to see the ravaged world through a window), see Dr. Halsey and the other Spartans, the slipspace-bending crystal, the emergence of the Brutes, the tension between the Elite and the Brutes, High Charity, Tartarus, the Unyielding Heirophant and the amassing Covenant battle fleet(music climaxes), and finally MC/Johnson/other surviving Spartans' departure to Earth to warn humanity of a imminent invasion by the Covenant aboard the UNSC Gettysburg. So I guess this starts with the opening cutscene, the camera pans real close over the bow of the Longsword from left to right(music same as the very beginning of the E3 Teaser trailer-MC hangar freefall), as from inside a silent MC inspects the debris from inside. Cortana warns of multiple Covenant capital ships on approach from the far side of Threshold. And indeed, as the cruisers round the planet coming towards MC's ship..............
It's not a whole motion picture here-as I said, it's semi-lengthy but worth the watch. As long as the music clip from the Teaser Trailer goes. The scenes go from one flash-in to another. Of course, Truth will narrate-the date timeline in the scenes, the heresy and blasphemy of the Demon, 9th age of Reclamation, The Great Journey, the fallback of the Unyielding Heirophant's destruction(a scene where the Covenant amasses their largest fleet along the Unyielding Heirophant-music climaxes here-then Unyielding Hieophant gets destroyed as well as over 500 ships caught in the blast), the Brutes(a trio of Brutes walking the grand hall of the Prophets' sanctum), and so forth. Looking good so far... Cutscene ends with UNSC Gettysburg departing in slipstream from Reach to Earth. This cutscene also has dates and respective subtitles spanning First Strike.

In fact, the whole music from the Halo 2 E3 Announcement Trailer(where MC jumps out of the hangar bay) seems to fit this cutscene well enough.

Yes, I agree. Campaign is the most important and the biggest portion of Halo.

Meh, the story mode will hold you over for what....a month, 2 months tops. Multiplayer is where the fun and excitement is. The only way I'll touch the single player in Halo 3 is probably going to be online/offline co-op. Playing by yourself sucks.
Unless they make bots.

This is but one oppinion. I enjoy playing games for the story. That's okay. Apparently you don't and that's okay too. We all have our own views.

Man Halo1 was all about the story, like really if there wasnt a storyline the flood would have been the most confusing thing ever. I dont know about you guys but when i buy H3 first thing I'm doing is playing the campain on every difficulty then playing it with some friends, then seeing whos online to play co-op with. Then and only then will i decide that maybe multiplayer would be a good waste of my time.

I really hope that the folks over at Bungie make some awesome cinimatics. I play campaign a lot, it's better than having little 10-yr old kids cussing at me and playing their annoying music. I hope that they make Halo 3 have an awesome story. That is what I care about.

You face an opponent who has never known defeat, who laughs in foreign tongues at your efforts to survive. This is Reply suicide.

"Oh Molly Connoly ruined my life, I thought the world should know."
Say Anything - Every Man Has A Molly

The main story in Halo CE actually kept me engaged for about 3 years. I poured over the game and the story.... I messed with single-player mode ENDLESSLY....

Halo 2.... Not so much. It was all cliffhangers and plot twists, but no real plot DEVELOPMENT. It bothered me and thus made Campaign virtually unplayable anymore than the required four times. (once for each difficulty)

I want Halo 3 to have a Campaign as gripping and epic as the first one, and a multiplayer as diverse (or more diverse) and engaging as the second Halo.

Halo 3 should be a perfect combination of the first two games with a dash of something new to make the game unique in it's own right.

This is a game I would settle for.

Im not saying to scrap the multiplayer in favor for it. If you only play the multiplayer then thats more of a reason to give us story whor es what we want!
