Subject: Post Count in Forums! :O

I mean come on, some of the veterans of this site don't get any respect! The only respect they get is from their date they joined! If Bungie could put in a statistic like "current posts:123" by the "date joined" thing, that'd be awesome! and i don't know if they could factor in people's current posts into the new system or not, either way it'd be a nice feature!

no, if you had post count older members would be all arrogant and "I have more posts than you so i am better than you and my oppinion is better so stfu" that pisses me off when people are like that.

Nah, I for one think that Bungie was very wise to hide post count. Hiding "Member Since" too might be a good idea as well. Though I am a bit on the fence with that one.

I think the Member Since date is a neat feature. It allows a member to see how long someone has been in the forums and allows that person to see who to watch if they want to know how to act in the forums. If someone knows that a person is an older member, they have a better chance of realizing "Hey, this guy's been here for a while. Maybe I should follow his example." That's how I picked up on forum etiquette (that and common sense and courtesy). I just wanted to throw that out there.

Yeah, does make a lot of good sense. I know that a post count is kind of cool to see, maybe in just the profile if they see it at all? I do like the joined thing, infact I wish I had gotten out here earlier, but I've always been hesitant to get out here, but I found that everyone out here is damn cool.

However, I do think that a personalized avatar would be a nice touch. That'd make things pretty interesting.

yeah... makes good sense, I find that most people do have good sense about them, but there are often the people that can ruin it for the rest of us. But makes sense, I guess we can just go with these ones, I like the P'fhor.

Tozting other people in Multiplayer is the goodness too. One of my fondest (and first) multiplayer expieriences is when my brother was scaring his friend with the sound of the pistol, watching him, and out of nowhere I run out of this door on the top of the middle arean of "Mars Needs Women" and I made him a crispy critter. Ahhh, good, good, good times.

That count is wrong anyhow.

Contrary to what anyone might think, your post count does not equate to your worth. There are people that have posted FAR more than the person that started this thread and are complete scum.

If you think the number of posts you've made makes you superior to other users then I strongly suggest you leave the forums. We're not that kind of forum.

<Bad Yoda impression>
Look at me by my join date. Judge me any less, do you? Hmm?
</Bad Yoda impression>

My join date is wrong, anyway. New account and all. I also know a few other members who have been here a while but also get new accounts recently.

Not true, I am replying to your post. I don't even know who many posts you have. I could care less how many posts someone has, because that person could just post usless crap 24/7. It's better to look for the quality than to look for size and quantity in a post.

I think we should leave the date so everyone knows I've almost been here a year, lol.

Same thing applies to join date.
Half true. It's true that a person's actions are their own, regardless of the date they joined, but if I were to plot intelligence of posts next to join date, there would be a strong exponential shift towards older members posting better stuff. This is partly because stupid people get better at posting, because some stupid posters leave, and partly because older members have an image to maintain.

And about Shishka saying the count is wrong, that is also only half true. For anyone who came here after the new hotness, the count is correct. For anyone before the new hotness, you would have to add in all their posts from before.
