Outskirts > Metropolis
-sniper alley
-close quarters combat
-far better exploration
-felt bigger
-more easter eggs
-marine collecting
-Hog collecting
-invincible Hog
-IWHBYD 28 Ultras
-easier Scarab gun retrieval
-more control (stop Pelican from leaving, stop Johnson from leaving, stop marines from charging to their deaths)
-lots more checkpoints
-less limited vehicle approach (on Metropolis, there's an invisible barrier that rebounds the Banshee and even if you manage to get the tank over the tunnel obstacles, you cannot get it past the end of the tunnel)
-less buggy encounters
Metropolis is the closest to linear in the Halo 2 campaign. Infinitely spawning enemies in the tunnel, infinitely spawning Jackal snipers... these are symptoms of horrible gameplay, forcing you to push through in a vehicle and change your gameplay pace, instead of appealing to individual play styles (true Halo). I like to take my time with battles (on foot) instead of just skipping them... Metropolis punishes that course of action.
